Glenys the Menace!

Glenys the Menace! Report 9 May 2005 17:40

Sorry to hear that, Mandy. Years ago I had regular EEG's. My only complaint was that my hair was sticky and tangly afterwards! Hope Jordan gets an appt soon, but in the meantime go on boy, let those teachers see what you're made of with those GCSE's.!! Keep us posted Mandy, won't you. Ta! G x

Jane Report 9 May 2005 18:50

just want to wish Jordan luck with his exams, and with the EEG when he gets it done, i had an EEG nearly 2 years ago, it does get all your hair in a mess afterwards, so hope his hair is short !!! its kind of boring sitting there for about 30 mins, but could be worse! i then had the EEG on for 24 hrs, weeks later, that was uncomfortable, and no way was i being seen outside with that on, i even wore a hooded top to cover it on the way home, but they wouldn't let me put it on !!!!! hope you get it all sorted out soon, i have to take medication twice a day now and have had my driving licence back since christmas, so it does get better, honest ! thinking of you, Jane xx

Hello Mandy Really feel for your son as I am also epileptic. I was diagnosed age 19 although I'd had seizures since I was 7. I wish him good luck with his exams. As a mum myself you must be really worried about him. Epilepsy has never held me back - got a degree at University, full-time job and two beautiful children - and with the right medication I'm sure Jordon can have a full and happy life. I hope you get the EEG rescheduled soon - it's always a worry waiting for test results. Have to say that my neurologist a star and I even had an MRI scan on a Saturday once, to check the level of scar tissue I have on my brain. If you ever want to talk to someone who's been through it, you are welcome to email me.

(((((((((((((((Mandy))))))))))))))) As if Jordan doesn't have enough on his plate with his exams but to then have to worry about hospital appointments only to have them postponed prolonging the anxiety! I am thinking about you all. Take care. Gaynor :-) xxx

Mandy - I do hope your son gets stabilised on the right medication, impress on him that it doesn't mix well with drinking - when he goes off to Uni! As my nephew has found out, more times than once........so sorry for Jordan, just coming into manhood, saddled with this. Hope his GCSE's aren't affected - don't forget to inform school (for some tolerance)- but I'm sure you will have already done so. Lily
