Seems to me there are people on here who can't wait to start the next lot of trouble. I missed all what went on the other day, but this is just parr for the course. It's as if they are sitting there thinking what can we get our kicks out of next. Very, very sad. Especially when it is being aimed against something most of us are keen to be involved in and help where we can. I renewed a few days ago, makes me wonder why. |

David, I totally agree with everything you have said I too would be able to tell anyone if I ever complained about them or a thread. I have only ever complained about nasty and disgusting behaviour by a couple of now ex. members. I am sure it would stop a lot of the petty complaints that are happening day in and day out on here, if people were allowed to be told who complained that would change everything I think. There is far too many people believing they have the right to police these boards and GR allowing them too much leverage to do that. Its making for a very tired and dreary board because so many times people run to GR for the least little thing its becoming less worthy for people to post interesting debates and discussions for fear of being complained about. GR should not allow these people to STOP what is one of the Brightest and nicest things on this board, that is people giving their time and their energy for something constructive that is for CHARITY!!! I agree fully with what Andy's said and mainly with what David has said. However, David, in my opinion, the rules are published for all to see, and everyone agrees to be bound by them when they join this site. I'm also repeating something that I've said several times before in situations like this - you cannot 'cherry-pick' who is allowed to break rules and who is not. That is grossly unfair. I've always called for fair play and even-handedness if 'punishments' are dished out. If one breaks rules and is suspended or dismissed from the site, others should take that as a warning and watch their behaviour. If they don't, it's their look-out. I've been out today, having a very pleasant lunch with another GR member, and I'm dismayed to come back and see that this sniping has been going on again during the day. As you've said, and as so many others have said SO many times - nobody HAS to read threads. CB >|< (Very proud to be on Diana's side and helping the cause, albeit in a very small way.) |

I can't believe that someone has complained about Pink putting a 'thank you' on the board! Or even about her fundraising! Neither can I believe the sick person/people who are sending hate mail to people who they 'think' might have complained. Maybe the sick person is doing both! Complaining to GR with one hand, and accusing people with the other - very strange form of attention-seeking but I'm sure the psychologists out there will have an opinion on this. You've done great Pink - I admire you not only for the amazing things you're doing, but also for your own openness and honesty. Mandy xx |

Maybe the threads were removed because a while back GR asked Pink to remove all but one thread ( I think ) Maybe they feel that more related threads are creeping back on the board. Ive looked on message board guidelines it says 'Don’t advertise, or use the service for any business or commercial or charitable purpose.' So GR are within their rights to ask for the removal of some. I think what Pink has achieved with her fundraising is wonderfull. And I am proud of Diana she is a gutsy woman. The memory of Gaynor will never be forgotton. Elaine x (ps it wasn't me who complained so peeps can cross me off their lists lol ! ) |

Elaine, it was Jenny that was asked to remove the GB Relay ones as all the Groups were putting their own threads on. xx |

yes Elaine but Jenny specifically asked Genes if she could use their name in the relay, to which they agreed. and now they are upholding complaints about fundraising i think they are sending mixed signals here and the complaints were about threads thanking people, nothing to do with raising funds! ELAINE, Can I ask a question - you may know the answer. How does the complaints thing work? Do GR remove a thread that has received a complaint solely because someone has complained about it or do they make an educated decision themselves? In other words, has anyone complained about a thread and it has NOT been removed? Just wondered because I have never been able to figure out the logic behind the complaints system. Bev x PS Elaine, I only asked you because you seem to know what makes GR tick, not because I think its you complaining!!!!!! |

I wasnt talking about the relay. Way before the relay I believe Pink was asked to remove some charity threads as Gr said there were too many on the boards. PS: Im NOT against pinks work and the threads diddnt bother me at all......just to make that clear. Elaine x |

Elaine i for one do not think it was you purely because when it all went off on the tips board you posted on here and told everyone it was you and your reasons. may i also say i admire that, least you have the courage of your convictions Bev |

Bev I have complained about threads in the past and recieved a reply that they would not be removing a statement or thread as it not deemed inapropriate enough. GR uses its own intuition when it comes to removing threads . However if many people make a complaint then Gr normally do delete....but then again I still think they use their intuition when it comes to removal. Elaine x |

I believe its called confidentiality someone may complain and get a thread removed...can you imagine the hassle, name calling etc that person would get if their name was publishd ? It would be lynch mob city Elaine x |

Elaine I disagree that lynch mob mentality would be the result. I've only complained about one thread. I posted on the thread saying that I was complaining. The person who's thread it was discussed it with me and we agreed to disagree. Of course there would be disagreements if people know who has complained but there wouldn't be any more than there are now with people becoming suspicious and paranoid. And as I said, hopefully it would stop people complaining quite so often and without good reason. As Pat said, the boards are in danger of becoming colourless and dull. |
