.............that i know i can do with one hand behind my back....however i don't have any recent experience due to bringing up a family, but the more i thought about it the more i liked the idea, so i gave them a call...... The manager was out but i had a chat with the young man who was in charge til he got back and i told him that although i don't have the relevant recent experience its mostly a job that needs common sense....i then spent last night thinking i had no chance, BUT..... i have just had a call asking me to go for an interview on Friday!!!! Now i am terrified as i haven't had an interview in ****years, please can you all cross everything you have for me....... Yvette |

Yvette I shall cross everything for you but I am sure you will be fine. If you can get through the telephone conversation with the boss you are obviously what he is looking for. Be confident and honest. Good luck Julie xxx |

Thanks girls... Tricia, well done! If i don't get it its not the end of the world, but it would sure be nice after over 20 years of being a mum, apart from a couple of short term part time jobs over 10 years ago, and the voluntary work i have done for the past 4 years...what will i do with a paypacket.....lol |

yvette, well done, you may not have the experience that can be put on certificates, but you have already one hell of a c.v. bringing up children is a very very hard job to do.... you may laugh!!! but did you know that most employers look for people like you nowadays. a person who can juggle, kid's partner cleaning operating electrical equipment ironing cooking shopping gardening decorating d.i.y counselling dealing with temper tantrums administration telephone operator cash handling and organise social events. boy i'd employ you!!!!! LOL go and get em girl!!!!!!!!! lynnxx |

Hi Yvette. Just like you I had been home with children(21yrs) I went for interview sat with a girl with all sorts of certificates and thought OMG I don't stand a chance(it was for a district nurse aux) guess who got the job!! just sell yourself all the time spent with children and running a home is the best cv you can have, if you can do that you can handle anything even the interviewer lol. Good Luck, I will be thinking of you do let us know what happens. Pauline |

My wife left school with no qualifications whatsoever, did a Pitman's course, worked as a secretary and is now an Administration Manager in a local Authority. Very practical and common sensical. So it can be done. |
