How many of us will be doing our pelvic floor exercises tomorrow whilst propping up the bar? lol You're right Diana. I'm walking everywhere but the thighs are not benefitting. Shall have to look up callenetics but that sounds interesting and Mandy's hint about lifting legs off the ground whilst sitting at the pc is great. It does hurt! I have to work 10 days at a time or I'll give up. Plus I'm hoping that the exercise will become really addictive just like the pc. Got any I can do whilst I'm ironing and watching the tennis? Paul, feel free to make rude comments! lol Daisy

YES I CAN SEE THE ADDs (emphasis, not screaming!X) Daisy, where is this loose muscle you need to tighten in 10 days??? Just interested, cos' I dont see any lumps in your photos! Seriously though, swimming is the best. AND better than swimming.....is treading water in the pool. HONESTLY, I would not lie to you. Deanna XXX

Diana.... lay on the floor on your left side.....legs bent at the knee....straighten out the right leg and LIFT only about 6' in the air.....repeat 8 times....then bend that knee and bring into your chest....and stretch it straight again....repeat 8 times. Now using the same leg bring the knee over to touch the floor in front of you....repeat 8 times. Then do it all again with the other leg.... Lie on your back.... and lift legs one at a time just off the ground and HOLD for count of 8 lower .....then both together...hold and lower.... GOOD CLASS.....Thanks girls.....don't forget your stretches afterwards.....or you will ache in the morning!!!!! Jacquie xxx

OK Daisy.....Right leg out to the side....keeping the other knee slightly bent.....raise the right leg up and down only small movements.....just do as many times as you can and repeat with other leg.... Some people can be soooooo awkward.....you try and help...and this all the thanks you get....I don't know why I bother...mutter mutter......lol No Pain No Gain!!!!!! Jacquie xxxx

Great Jacquie that really works! Now then, I read somewhere that wearing high heels is great for your legs so perhaps I should be wearing those whilst doing the ironing? Daisy

Honestly truthfully if you get into the habit of clenching and releasing the muscles that you want to work on all through the day you will find that they tone up in no time. The ONLY bit of my body that hasn't given in to gravity (YET) is my bottom and I realised that when I walk I clench my buttocks......... Now I just have to remember to do the same to the other bits!!!!!!! :-) Mandy

Oh Daisy - I forgot to mention that one of the callenetics ones can be done whilst ironing. It's the same as CB said about the ballet barre. I used to use the ironing board:))

Daisy, I'm sure Steve at the Shakespeare won't mind if you put your feet up on the bar (in the absence of a barre) one at a time (of course!) and do some stretches. One heel on the bar, point toe, then gently bend the other, straight leg as many times as comfortable - not too many or you'll overstretch and ache, then swap to the other leg. If your heel doesn't reach the bar, try something lower, like a shelf. Wouldn't recommend an ironing board though! Works a treat, although you wouldn't think so to look at my legs since I've had the knee problem. CB >|<

What's wrong with an ironing board CB :))

Just been trying semi squats whilst ironing - that feels quite good too. Daisy

Chrissie, An ironing board isn't stable enough. You need something that isn't going to wobble or collapse if you suddenly get cramp or if you lose your balance. If your weight is partially supported on something that isn't stable, you could end up falling and doing yourself a lot of harm. Take care! :>) CB >|< X
