Hi Leah, Sandra, Shaz, Laurie - and Honey Rum (nice to meet you Anne) To everyone out there, these girls are great, I was one who met them at Moss Vale yesterday. To Honey Rum, I live at Springwood, Blaxland is 4 stations away, and I could help you get to Brighton-le-sands by train. I'm looking forward to getting together with you all. Judy - from the Blue Mountains |

Hi We had our meet uptoday. It was a lovely time and it was a pleasure to meet other genealogy addicts and get to know all of you. We have decided on Saturday, 15th October at Brighton-le-Sands in Sydney. There are good train and bus connections as there will be some of us that have to travel. We have a lot of choices of either restaurants, pubs or clubs. I will be putting a fresh thread up for anyone interested in this meet. Thanks Anne for putting this thread up and we look forward to meeting you in October. Regards Leah - Goulburn |

As Sandra mentioned earlier, we are having a 'mini meet' to talk about Oct meet - we're meeting at Moss Vale on Wednesday, so after that I am sure one of us will get back to all - I think there are 5 of us meeting for the first time, cheers Laurie |

Ok....from the looks of this, it's either Sydney (the City) or Newcastle.....Honey Rum....Newcastle is about 2 hours drive from Sydney from what I've been told. I am pretty much in the middle and have a house with rooms that everyone can doss in, if they so wish and don't expect a mansion! The offer is there.... |

Hi everyone! First of all... my flight to Oz is booked and I will be getting there with 'Tinkle' on the morning of the 6th October.... the first few days will be getting together with rellies etc.......so I can probably say around 2/3rd week of October or 1/2nd week of November, for the meet up. Sandra!!! If you can organise with your Australian counterparts, a date that is suitable to everyone over there, that would be great. Maybe everyone wll give you dates of when they can go to the meet as above and then we can find a mutually suited time for it. Take care, Anne :))) |

Honey Rum, I think that is a great idea. The blue mountains is lovely, you will like your stay there. I live in Queensland, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. I would love to come down to meet up with everyone, providing our house is sold, then hubby and I free to travel. Going to move in with my daughter and son in law while we rebuild a new place. Sydney is ok for me, traffic is horrible though, but that is because I am not used to it, to me peak hour never ends. lol. The central coast is a lovely area also to meet (between Sydney and Newcastle) Some beautiful spots there and parking wouldnt be an issue as it is in Sydney, especially the city. It really depends what suburbs we are looking at in and around Sydney. The North shore is nice, suburbs, like Manly, Narrabeen etc all of which would be known to our Sydney siders. Lynda Queensland |

Hi there Anne, Next week myself, Sharyn, Leah are meeting up to organise this meet, as Laurel said she will be away first weekend in October, I think that would be for most people as it's a long weekend here so after then. Also we need to know if people can do week day's as well as weekends. Bye for now Sandra in the Gong |

Good idea, I am in Sydney, and will be in for a meet if I am able, but the first week October is already booked up for me - have a wedding in Louth (western NSW) on the long weekend and we have decided to take a few days either side to have a look around old stomping grounds .. let me know when you come up with a date and I will see where I will be. I had a meet up with 8 from different site recently - we meet here at Brighton, was great to put faces to names. Cheers Laurie |

Hi everyone... have been away for a couple of days so have not been able to get much done on here. The Blaxland I mentioned is the one by Blue Mountains... I have family there, but when I come over I will be visiting many places... the itinery is being done for me so will need a holiday when I come back to UK!!! Have had an e.mail from Leah who with others are getting together for a mini meet and coming up with a couple of dates for our Australian Meet-up. This will then be put up for everyone to say yes or no to... I do hope it is a yes from all of you... I can't wait to meet you all and get some wonderful pics to put on the site. The list is growing but we hope that many more will join up with us. Best wishes, Anne :))) |

Hi Honey rum, Glad you are getting more responses, i'm glad you heard from Mary and Kaye we used to chat on another thread before it disapeared so would love to meet up with them. You mentioned Blaxland when you come over, the only one i know would be in the Blue Mountains about an hour or so from Sydney. I would be happy to get together with anyone to discuss getting this meet up and running. What sort of dates are you looking at? Regards Sandra in the Gong |

For the few people who have Emailed me about Australian meets. Its mainly because we live so far away from each other. I'm sure many Ozzies would love to have meets, but most would probably be State meets, unless you were in that part of Oz at the time. I have had a few people Email me, asking why we dont have an all Australian meet. If you take a peek at this URL you may understand why an all up Ozzie meet would be difficult to organise. Cheers.
