Well put Fred - that is exactly why I sponsor through an organization run by people I know personally and am 100% confident of exactly WHAT is happening with my cash. People waving a ciggy lighter during a Madonna song or shouting abuse at our politicians are doing naff all to solve the problem but don't tell them that because they genuinely think giving up their Saturday afternoon to watch a pop concert means they are saving the world.

Folowing on the theme of Freds comment, the problem of money laundring from Nigeria was tabled in the House of Commons some time ago. I can't remember the date but they listed all of the British banks that have been used in the process of filtering money out of Nigeria to Switzerland. Most of the banks that we find on our high street as it happens. So if we stopped the means of transfer it would make it harder to do. I found it through Google on the Parliment site. Mandy

Hi Wendy Please could you email me details? It will be good for Jordan, as well as for us, to help someone less fortunate. Thanks Mandy :)

Linda - I have to admit that is why I have no time for people who chunter on about billions of dollars being wasted by governments when they aren't prepared to stop wasting money and resources themselves. So many people think 'What's the point - I can't make a difference on my own' Put all those people together and it's amazing what can be achieved!! Mandy - I've messaged you the details, very many thanks for asking. xx

In Elton Johns defence and other celebs that donate, he bought a Bentley car a few weeks ago £120,000+. drove it for a few days, I guess to put some mileage on it and have his name on the log book and auctioned it off for aids charities.I am not saying all celebs do this but a lot do, they do a good job of highlighting the problems, and as said before it is the worlds governments that need to do more for Africa and get them out of this poverty and hunger situation they know what's going on, they just need to get their finger out, so to speak. Heather UPDATE Bendy Wendy - I have received my sponsor for a little girl in Cambodia, Sina, aged 10yrs, she is so tiny on her picture.
