If that womans children look so beautiful and cute, then why not send a clothed picture to a well known model agency. If the children look that good then the agency will contact her. As said before intimate (not pornographic) photos of your children are for private use only. I have piccys of mine and their smiley little botties, and would never dream of showing them to a stranger, yet alone sell them. What I did notice on holiday however, was British families letting little Johnny and Jane go naked from the waist down on the beach. Not just a case of the child getting changed on the beach, but sitting there naked all day Dont these people read the papers |

This really had wandered off the point before Em brought it back. This is NOT about a Nanny State telling parents they may not take pictures of their own children at the school Nativity it is about a woman who sold nude pics of her children on the internet. Will the people expressing condemnation for those of us who think it is a stupid thing to do be selling pictures of their own nude children/grandchildren on ebay or is that 'different'? This thread has been twisted into an 'oh, my rights are being violated' anti state whitter. If a parent chooses to take a cute naked pic of little Tarquin, stick it in an album and bring it out to embarass him with 20 years later then great but if that parent puts it for sale on the internet how in hell's name do they know a pervert is NOT going to be the one that pays their £5.50 plus postage? We all know these sickos exist and anyone who claims innocence, not knowing that such things occur isn't in touch with reality. If that woman was so desperate to see her other child in America she would have pulled her finger out and earned money. £5.50 won't get her very far will it? |

Stel - I agree. It's a mad, mad, sad, sad world when folk are constantly anticipating the worst in the way they seem to do now. To not let you take photos of a perfectly normal school event is 'protection' gone stark staring bonkers. What a crazy world we live in!! |

Seems all down to perspective to me - if a professional photographer takes a picture of a naked/semi-naked child and that's on the news for the whole world to see, or if a child's photographs are promoted through a 'legitimate' modelling agency, then that's ok, but a naive mother thinks her children in the bath are cute enough to sell a picture - that's obcene and she deserves to have them taken away from her. Have I understodd that correctly? Why don't we just solve the whole problem by banning all photography? Then no-one could make a decision we didn't like about what is or isn't acceptable. I'm with Daniel on this one - what happened was unwise, naive and potentially foolish, but hardly justifies moral outrage. |

Whilst I wouldn't dream of putting pictures on the internet of my little 'grandson' aged 4, I do have pics I have taken of him in the garden and then later, having had them developed at the local chemist, seen that he had on only a tee-shirt and with his arms up in the air, was showing off his bits. I also sneaked up on him in the sand dunes last year, thinking he was hiding, snapped the picture, then realising he was having a p.. and that was developed also. I have loads of my son of 23, when he was a baby, the usual future blackmail ones of him naked on a sheepskin rug and in the bath etc - we still have a laugh at them, himself included. Haven't made any money off him tho - he just turns the page of the album quickly. I think this woman was maybe naive and thought some model agency would go ga-ga over her babes and her money probs would be over, silly woman. |

I know what you say is true but if you put photo's like that in to a place to be developed the shop will either not develop them or phone the police as it is not allowed now. I would never put my kids on the internet in any state as they are my memories not for strangers to look at |

On a lighter note, NASA sent up a Satellite with a camera so sophisticated that it could take a picture of the whole World in one shot. It cost Billions. Unfortuately the picture was spoiled. Somebody moved! |

Fred???? I agree with Fee that candid snaps of one's children are not a suitable item of merchandise, but there may well be occasions, such as, an act of bravery when the World and his Wife would like to see a picture of the 'hero' (or heroine) with the News report. |

Neither i nor anyone i know would ever sell photographs of their children. The photographs are of her children not herself, and i therefore think she has no right to sell them. What will the children think in a few years time knowing that someone (possibly not a nice person) has their photographs, and could be using them for lord knows what. |

Surely it should be left up to the parents whether they want to take pictures/videos of their children at many stages of their growth. This includes such events as nativity Plays and Sports events. I think it is disgusting that the Scaremongers have now made this almost impossible. Publishing these photos is another matter. It is apparently Ok for photographers to snap the children of celebrities and sell them to the Newspapers for all to see. But it is not OK for me to let someone see pictures of my 8 year old coming second at the school's egg and spoon race. The vast majority of people would find these pictures innocent and inoffensive. Only the Paedophiles and the Nanny State would try to find anything salacious in such pictures, so maybe all Paedophiles AND Do Gooders should just be locked up and let the rest of us get on with our lives. |
