Fair Anne of Kent, I wouldst gladly be thy chaperone if 'twere that I was of thine own fair sex, only it grieves me to tellest thou that I have a bit of a problem with mine armour at present, and am present wandering the forests close by the Abbey of Grottingham seeking a skilful blacksmith who can aid me to divest myself of the same. I may hang around a bit for the joust, though, can't resist the promise of a bit of blood and guts around the place - just so long as they are not mine, you understand. |

Me thinks I should retire to my chambers with a mulled wine to consider the options of my suitors. Ivanhoe - Sir Ken - Robin L - Green Knight - The Reiver and now the annonymous poet - which shall it be? Lord where did I stash my tobacco now [ calls lady in waiting ] WOMAN!!! where are you? where hath thou hidden my tobac you witch. |

Beware of imposters of little value My Lady. For they seek to cheapen your virtue. Do not delay in the consideration of your favours........for time is such a subtle thief of youth!!! Your greatest admirer, L |

I believe this to be a timeless thread dear Robin for if not I believe you would be long gone and taken both Ivanhoe and Marlowe with you and if indeed he be a friend of yours, that surely speaks of your advanced years |

(emerges from the GR maze in garden) Good lord one did think one would never find the way out. But wait! what lies upon the threshold of my home - the sweetest ode one did ever read......... could this be another suitor? I must secret these words of passion within my bodice. (looks furtively around and hurries inside) |

Green Knight I am puzzled by what you suggest - why would a fair maiden commit herself to a nunnery?? However I will take heed of your kind warning - you would perchance care to accompany me as a chaparone as my lady in waiting would appear to have absconded with a scoundrel. The Reiver I do believe that a joust may ensue between Invanhoe and Sir Ken - if you care to try your hand with the winner - may the best man win my favour. The Fair Anne |

My Lady Anne Take heed of the words of one who has lingered in the forest this many a year. These 'gentlemen', for all their sweet words and blandishments, are not to be trusted. Beware that they steal not thine honour and then desert you. Many a fair lady afore thee has been forced to retire to a nunnery after dallying in the forest with these rogues. A well wisher |

Robin I hath heard of a tradition of the soon to come 20th century where doth a gentleman invite a fair maiden to the countryside to illicit improper suggestions to her ...... and forwith she doth succumb.............. I am more than willing to learn of new traditions ahead of their time The Fair Anne xx |

Dearest Lady Anne pray do not venture into the woods this evening it is not a place for sweet maids, I doubt Loxley could protecteth you from all the vagabonds and wild animals that lurketh there |
