Beauty is something beyond us,something created that we as humans,have not altered ,corrupted,copied or mimicked,the original form,the primary source,the product of a natural plan. We get into trouble when we start to talk about aesthetics,which is really just mans interpretation. Look at a pineapple,and note the pattern of the skin-a pattern that later turns up in mathematical discovery-we congratulate ourselves for discovering thispattern,but it was there all along in nature.Beauty doesnt have to be pretty,it can just be something that can never be bettered or changed or improved,something that works best in its purest or simplest form. Look at the pattern of a snowflake-for centuries weve tried to excell in lacemaking,pattern designing,art,draughtsmanship-it was already there-the master design templates of nature.

Whilst I'm quite willing to say that I normally see beauty as a visual thing (hey, I'm a bloke, I'm allowed to be shallow)... beauty does of course come from within too. I was just having a discussion with someone about a member of this site who I haven't met yet, but who I KNOW is lovely, regardless of appearance (and no I won't embarrass the lady by naming her)

I think one of the big benefits of growing older is realising that the superficiality is not beauty. There are so many beautiful things in this world. Just looking at the clouds in a blue sky is a wonder that so many take for granted. Beauty in people is the loving and caring nature that shows in their eyes.

reading bridget's thread,reminded me of the day,that my cousin and i were walking in the park,with her downes syndrome daughter,aged about 6. we came across a salvation army band,and her daughter ran across to them,took some cymbals off somebody,and joined in for about 15mins...the smile on her little face,has stayed with me for about 30yrs...yes,thats what i call beautiful! bryan.

whats beautiful a tiger is beautiful, what a beautiful creature an elephant is.Demi Moore is gorgeus and so is Jo Brand people have all sorts of beauty it should be cherished,my daughters are beautiful my best friend is beautiful it doesnt matter what we all think everybody has a great portion of beauty to the person who is looking at them who loves them!.
