It was, as far as I was concerned, absolutely tropicallllllll here in Peterborough this afternoon. had an excellent light show from about 9pm till 1030pm sky was lit up all around....eased off a bit then, then the rain came....... and it seems to be easing off again now, 1130pm Bob

Very pleasant here after the heat of the day.Warm but not muggy. Left the beach about 1 hour ago and am now waiting for my slot of time in the bathroom to wash away the rest of the sand. Spent some lovely hours with grandson on the wide expanse of sand of a nearby beach. A bonus to have some good weather before he returns to school next week.

It has been muggy this afternoon in Stockton and was very dark driving home. Had the thunder and lightning with me all the way but got home before the downpour arrived.

Wow, that was some storm. 46 minutes of Hell let loose. Just heavy rain now. Not sure who is getting it next. Jean in Washington, Ann Lazenby or Scottish borders, then Edinburgh. Now have bath towels and buckets catching leaking roof of conservatory. Gaynor Bear relay map is hanging on wall soaked. Hope all those that do not like storms are safe and not too frightened.
