Hi Lemon Sorry I didn't join in earlier, but only saw your thread very late last night. Oh, the memories! And what about horehound rock? You mentioned Macaroon bars. Does anyone have a recipe for it? My niece who is pregnant (but that is not why) has decided she wants to make some. She vaguely remembered the mashed potato bit, then couldn't find a recipe and thought she might be imagining things! Auntie to the rescue, she hopes. I'm not sure about the Pan Drop company, was it Millars? Or did they take on Pan Drops. Will try to check out also. Another Scottish sweet tooth! Sheila |

I used to LOVE PAN DROPS..................Don't like macaroons, but love highland toffee......3d and a sweetie coupon! My lovely grandad used to always have a stash hidden in his grandmother clock, and I was allowed to take one now and again for myself and my sister. Grandad bought the wee ones, not the big ones....lasted longer that way. They were an attempt to stop smoking.......yea right grandad!! Deanna XX |

In Halifax sweets are called spogs! In Bradford and most of Yorkshire they are called spice. |
