There is a Dead Donkey Lane between Ramsgate and Pegwell Bay in Kent - it is quite steep. As a child I always wondered about the poor donkey whenever we drove past.

In Woking, Surrey, there's Bullbeggar's Lane. Driving to a party once, many years ago, I'd already been at the gin and was told I had to navigate, using a Surrey Atlas. There wasn't much in the way of street lighting, and it wasn't easy to read the map (Well, that's my excuse anyway!). I gaily announced to the driver that the road he was looking for was Bellbugger's Lane! (As if Bullbeggar's wasn't bad enough!)
