I received a pm from Scruffs Mum today, with some sad news. Poor Scruff, her dog had to be put to sleep a couple of days ago, as he had an incurable illness. As you can imagine his Mum is really sad, and asked me to pass this to everyone on the board. Because Scruffs Mum had her name for obvious reasons, she has decided to keep her name as 'Scruffs Mum' in honour of her much loved pet and companion. But I don't think she could face writing this thread, and trusted me to do it for her. 'Scruffs Mum was one of the first names I remembered when I joined the board, and I feel quite humble she trusted me with this. Please can folk nudge, so everyone knows....thanks. Well, as you know I lost Lucy dog on her 16th birthday in June and not a day passes without I shed a tear but things do get easier and you can remember the good times. You will meet Scruff again I know - I will have a whole pack of them when I pass on waiting for me. God bless, thinking of you with love.

I am sorry to hear about Scruff. I know exactly how you feel losing my little Westie a week after coming out of Hospital when I was feeling so down, made me feel so much worse. The only thing that made me feel better about it was she wasn't suffering anymore. Take Care J, hopefully see you back here soon. Pat x

I dont think we have spoken personally but I have enjoyed some threads you have been on.My heart goes out to you and I send you a hug.A big one..... When our wee dog died,we had her cremated and she is still here in the house until such times as I have the money to buy a maple tree to put her around.We got the wee dog from the c.d.l. and they had already named her Syrup.As we all enjoyed maple syrup,it became our own wee name for her.Hence wanting the maple tree.We broke our hearts over that wee dog and we still miss her. I think you have a hard time in front of you but there are loads of lovely people on this site who will always listen and be there for you.Please do still keep your name.It's a way of keeping Scruff alive.Some people may find this offensive but I do believe Scruff would be offended if you changed your name.... Lemon, Thank you for posting this message. I know exactly how poor Scruff's Mum feels, as I had to go through making the same agonising decision a few years ago, when our dog was considered too old to withstand an operation. Knowing how kind-hearted Janet is (She donated to my 'Buttons' appeal for GB), I'm sure she is devastated at losing poor Scruff, so please pass on to her my love and sympathy. CB >|< X
