Where I was brought up in Chadderton near Oldham they used to call them scrapings! and we used to get them free from the chippy if we took in a pile of newspapers for them to wrap the chips up in. Marie

You got me thinking now Pat, could have been cracklin I suppose, it was fifty years ago. We definitely got it for nothing whatever it was called. I can't believe they are charging for what would otherwise be thrown away. Much as I used to love them, I wouldn't pay for them. Vivienne

we used to call them scrumps, but then the health and what ever said they couldnt sell um anymore, im sure, they were 2p a bag wen i was younger
