Granted, that on a general board, we talk about everything and anything (and sometimes nothing!) but.... Having seen what i believe is a brand new name this morning, asking a question, I amused me that they chose this site to ask that question.Bemused perhaps is a better word. Just happened to stumble across the site maybe? thought it looked friendly? Just Wonder why here? jess x |

Yes, i suppose the Tunis cake one does fit the criteria, I would have thought that a cookery site room would have perhaps produced better results. I dont have a problem with ANYONE posting ANYTHING , so dont think i do, please.(Especially Queenie, its fine, you post what you like) just bemuses me ! Jess x |

Hi Merry, OOOOH Tesco for Breakfast - now theres an idea - your little 'un can have her scrambled eggs there too lol. When I was wee - (several centuries ago now) at this time of morning my mum always said it was time for a fly cup - it baffled me for years what she meant lol |

I understand your point Jess. But many new names are often long standing members who havent posted before on the board. Its common place for questions to be asked on the board such as recipes, song lyrics, where to buy etc....nothing new there. What does bemuse and often irritate is when people post very personal questions regarding relationships, and other very personal threads and wanting advice. Some post these threads and are offended when some people dont agree with them, then go on to bemoan the fact by starting another thread. People often forget that their post can be seen by anyone who is or isnt a member of genes. And often asking for advice on a very personal matter can lead to the wrong advice being given (as its peoples own opinions which differ) which can sadly lead to things like breakups. Elaine x |

Elaine please dont confuse Bemuse and irritate , they are poles apart, i really dont want to start a thread about what irritates, that only leads to strife |

Not sure what this thread is about? Surely everyone is entitled to put a thread up, new or old? Sorry...not sure what point your thread is trying to convey ? Sally in Sydney |

Mrs snowman, absolutely - and i did start by saying that i had no problem with anyone doing that. What bemuses me is why someone pops in , new to the site, and asks about say, the price of artichokes. Why do that on a geneological site?, I wouldn't look up a cookery site and ask about my ancestors in darkest Peru. as someone has pointed out, maybe they have been watching for ages and finally posted- thats fine, i dont have a problem, I'm not trying to 'make a point' , just wondering what motivates people jess |
