Julie ! One is Hugo Boss (white with blue/lilac stripes), the other Kenneth Cole (stripes of various shades of red), so yes, they're very nice. Two nice ties too, and a few other bits. Sharon has bought a couple of DKNY tops, a few more non designer tops, two pairs of shoes (both pink !) and a Guess handbag.... Oh and one other thing about the trip... we spent a really enjoyable couple of hours at a Carol Concert in St Thomas church on 5th Avenue... |

Oh and I forgot... also went to Grand Central Station (fantastic), rode the subway (didn't do that the first time, Sharon was a bit nrevous because of the reputation it USED to have), and also the PATH train (which is how we got back to WTC when we were stuck uptown because of the transit strike), which I'd never even heard of ! Of the shopping, I would thoroughly recommend Macy's, and Century 21 is OK for bargains, but... didn't really like Bloomingdales much. It's OK if you're loaded and/or have the physique of a model, but otherwise... it's nice to look round, but we had a hard time finding something to buy... oh and Jan... guess where we had dinner on my birthday ??? lol |

Hi, Sorry about the silence this afternoon - *%$% broadband connection keeps going... hopefully it'll stay up long enough for me to post this. New York was great. Cold, but sadly no snow. We did most of what we wanted to - we took a helicopter ride around manhattan (fantastic!), went to a broadway show (The Lion King), did lots of shopping (and I bought a couple of REALLY nice shirts), and did lots of WALKING - through Central Park (went to Strawberry Fields), chinatown, soho, tribeca, greenwich village, the financial district and across the Brooklyn bridge. Went up the Empire State Building at night, the lights of New York are fantastic from up there... oh and we also had lunch in Katz's Deli - I've never had such a big sandwich in my life lol All in all - very enjoyable. Only fly in the ointment was the transit strike, which meant that on Tuesday/Wednesday getting around was difficult - yesterdays trip to the airport was 'interesting'; for a while we didn't think we'd make it to the airport in time - in which case we would have still been there, as everythings booked solid for days... Had about half an hours sleep on the plane, so have been feeling a bit fragile, but I think I've now gone through the tired barrier and should be OK for a few more hours. If the broadnabd connection stays up long enough, I'll also get around to answering the 30 odd emails waiting for me... Paul |
