Malc. Think of the lady - she may well be as nervous as you. Listen as well as talk and enjoy yourselves. Don't prejudge what the night might be like and the best of luck to you BOTH. Keith |

Why don't you just get your mate to bring her out for a drink and you turn up in the same place and get talking to them, and see how you and she hit it off, or not, as the case may be. There wouldn't be so much pressure on either of you then, she will have your mate to be with and be taken home by, and you can disappear if you want or hang around and offer her a lift or not, depending on the signals you get. Hope you get my drift - but definitely go for it. Good luck. |

Malc - listen to Auntie Sheila - just be yourself. Trust me , she will love the fact that you are such a kind gentle man - and I know that you will treat her like a lady . You know what I mean - hugs xx |

How well do you know this mate? If he is a good friend and a good cousin he is thinking of both of you. If she has been divorced as well and you have then think of the worse thing that can happen? Lets think....hhhmmm... say you faint out of nerves? Ok...if you do....if she cares then shes OK. If she leaves you there and you wake up the next day and shes gone then it probably wouldnt have worked in the first place! Suzanne P.S. And remember none of us are perfect, so she wont be either! |

Malc, Most girls are nice, so why should she be different? Treat her as a friend and see how things develop. I've never risked a blind date, but then I'm still single. It's worth a try. Anne |

Good Luck Malc. My lad had one the other week he hadn't got a partner for the works do and so one of the lads partners fixed him up they had a date before to be sure they got on and have been out once since though I don't think it will go anywhere they have made friends. Malc, might sound cliched but if it helps, think of something you've done in the past where you were apprehensive beforehand, but when it came to the moment in question your fears turned out to be unfounded and the outcome was a successful one. I try and think along those lines whenever possible, as I can be prone to envisaging things going wrong when placed in a situation with a certain degree of uncertainty. Hope all goes well, Andy |

Speaking as one who used to go on Blind Dates, I can tell you that she will be so relieved that you are such a nice, normal guy, that she will fall on you with delight! (I met every creep, half-wit, axe murderer and married man in the Southern Hemisphere.....) Olde Crone |

I can't understand why she bothered to meet you if she fancied someone else. It is her loss though, so don't you worry about it. Good luck with the next one. Granny |
