I got a 'medium' turkey for NYD which said 'for 4 to 6 people'. There were 7 adults and 3 children for lunch, 9 adults and 5 children for tea. I've had 2 more meals from it, and enought for several meals still! There are biscuits, fruit juice, pop, Baileys, Sherry, sweets. I've frozen as much as I can, put the sweets in a high cupboard. I always have nuts to nibble anyway. So I'm staying away from supermarkets as long as poss Anne

Oh and I forgot to mention that as well as the unhealthy leftovers I also had a bucketful of carrots, parsnips, potatoes, sprouts etc that hadn't been needed. While I was doing the New Year's Day Roast I turned them into a large batch of veggie soup in my stockpot, adding passata, stock and seasoning. Its all in little plastic containers in the fridge or freezer now - hubby and I are slurping our way through it as our daily work lunches. How healthy and ecological is that! Angela [Sue - if you run, you might get here in time to grab some of the goodies - including an almost untouched hamper of posh choccies I got as a pressie - before I give them away. I'll leave a selection in a plastic tub outside the back door, so bring a ladder to shimmy over the fence. Just come down the M1, round the M25 to Swanley and cut across country to reach us.]
