thanks for all the advice, it really helps. dave i know you were only messing, i see the funny side! lol! i've decided to combine a lot of the advise on here and do this: i take the telling her on friday idea but she's actually off for the rest of the week, so. i'm going to take her out to lunch so that we are in a friendly neutral environment and then when she chooses her meal i can get on the diet subject. bit sneaky but hey ho. im then going to compliment her on the amount of weight she has lost and just try to make light of the subject by saying something like im not being funny but it causes a bit of a breath problem dont you think? and then just kind of go with the flow then... going at 20 past 12 so be quick if im making a huge mistake! paul.. |

I am the MD of business with 8 staff and one of them has very bad b/o. She has always had this problem but luckily I know her sister so i asked her to have a word from a family level with no names mentioned and it worked so if you can try and get someone she is close to to have a word then that way she will never know that work friends have noticed the problem Good luck xx |

Its a joke Linda and most people took it that way.Anyway anybody that KNOWS they have halitosis would surely have done something about it? Its only people who dont know they have it that dont! Davex |

Too late to give advice as I have only just come online but I would be mortified if a man approached this subject with me if I had that problem, I think I would much prefer a woman, maybe someone who is a friend at work, and even though your idea of taking her to lunch and approaching it that way sounds very thoughtful of you I would still be embarrassed to say the least. Not a nice situation to be in for you so I really do hope it goes ok. Marie |

hi folks im back! lynda and dave please dont fall out. its not that sort of thread! xxx well it actualy went better than i thought it would. she was embarrassed but i think i put in a way that meant i cared about her rather than complaining if you know what i mean. we had a chat about it for 5 minutes and then it was a bit of an atmoshere for a while. but then we changed the subject and it gradually became a bit less strained. i told her she didnt have to come back this afternoon of she didnt want and she has gone home. im going to get one of the girls to go round her house after work and see if she's ok. hope i did the right thing. paul.... |

so was she aware of the problem herself Paul? Sounds like she took on board what you were saying to her and hopefully there isnt any medical problem with her. |
