Oooooo yes good thinking Linda! I've just texted my mates who are mad about the series too, to tell them about the clues. We spend half of our Saturday nights out with them dicussing the programme. Sad or what! lol I was 'madly in love' with Sam last week, now I think I'm falling for Gene! LOL

Thanks Linda. I'll take a look. I haven't had a look at what these sites are saying yet, so it will be interesting to see what others are thinking. My friend is now totally confused! lol

Oooh and if you go to the BBC site there'a a Radio 5 clip of Philip Glenister talking to Simon Mayo about the show and his character - about 11 minutes long. I'll discuss my current obsession with any passing stranger ... LOL Linda :o)

I didn't tape it Lindy, sorry; I've only got last week's on tape. I'm really hoping the whole series will be repeated on BBC3 or 4 because the only date I found for DVD release was December! DECEMBER?!!! I can't wait that long :oD Linda :o)

Brilliant series - I probably like it because (showing my age) I remember 1973, teenage years and stuff. Philip Glenister .... mmmmm!

didnt enjoy last nights episode so much but after reading on here that some of you think Gene Hunt is Sams dad made me wonder when at 2 o'clock Gene got shot and not Sam.

Recorded this but not watched it yet. Did read in the radio times that 2nd series is on its way but they are not sure if the car will make it to the 2nd series given the age of it and the way it is driven. Will be watching it this morning when the house is peaceful!! LOL

Could anyone please let me know last night's ending. Hubby has been following it, but as he is in hospital I was watching it for him, then lo and behold there was a power cut at 10 to 10. I got up to the bit where he was outside the wedding reception. Dad and the woman in the red dress were just going to the woods and himself as a little boy began talking to him, then all the power went off. Thanks Dianne xx

I relived the last 10 minutes there - good description Deb :o) Yes, I was glued to the sofa last night! It was fabulous - so many great moments - heavy emotion along with the wisecracking. My standout bits: Sam playing football with his dad in the park (lump in the throat time), Sam watching through the window at the wedding reception and 'Life on Mars' plays (OK, I admit, I cried), The scene when Sam's dad had the gun (as described above by Deb), Any scene with Gene Hunt! I thought John Simm was particularly outstanding in this episode. Lee Ingleby was also superb playing Sam's dad; I've admired him since I first saw him as Midshipman Hollom in 'Master and Commander'. Bad news - no new series until 2007. Better news - DVD release of this series in early October now, I'd seen it previously advertised as late December. Linda :o)
