I was born at home - in Harrogate, but arrived before the midwife, so a neighbour who had 7 children helped. When the midwife arrived, she told my Mum off for not waiting for her!

think I was born in a maternity home, whatever that was. Older sibs in general hospital (I was always different). But Dave, you're forgetting other locations - on my ambulance driver uncle's last shift he delivered the last in a line of about 30 babies over the years! :-)))

I was born in Fairfield Hospital Bury Lancs, but my sister was born at home in Middleton Manchester, there was a little problem with her when she was born and the midwife had to call the doctor out just to cover herself if anything went wrong, he was very annoyed at the time as he was just on his way out to watch Manchester United play. I was born in the British Hospital For Mothers & Baby's in Woolwich Se London. I made a contact on here with a cousin & we found we were born in the same hospital one day apart, so, its poss our Mothers were in the same ward.. He is from my paternal side & after my grandad died in 1911 my gran cut herself off from his family ,so we never knew anyone connected to my grandfathers family. Shirley

I'm a hospital baby as is my brother - we were bothe born at Caerphilly Miners District Hospital. Mum was born at St Jameses Hospital in Tredegar. Dad was born in his grandmother's frount room / parler. I believe his sister was born in hospital as my nan was told not to have another child after my dad - silly madam had 2 after dad including my aunt (sadly the 2nd boy was prem - 7mths gestation - and died minutes after birth but I think he may have been registered as stillborm).
