Sue, i'm glad you cuddled her for a while, it's hard letting go isnt it. I should know, i still havnt been able to part with Henriettas ashes... If there is anything i can do, let me know... They are our friends and family for a long time... lots of love and hugs, Lou xxx |

Why should we mind if you cuddled the little body of your just-deceased pet, Sue? The vet that put one of our beloved cats to sleep in '97 advised us to let our other cat see his dead body, so she could see he had gone. He said that sometimes they need closure, too. I believe that Suki's little body is now her shell, and that she's gone somewhere else. Take care. x |

So sorry to hear your sad news Sue, I still miss my little Jake, he's been gone nearly 4 years. Pets bring us so much love and so much heartache, It's like losing a member of the family. It gets easier in time but we never forget them. Take care Michele X |

It doesn't upset me at all Sue. When I lost our guinea pigs I cried non-stop for about 3 weeks, I was in such a state!! Stupid I know, but we get attached to our little friends don't we ?? Big (((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) to you. You did the best thing to give her a last cuddle. I would have done the same. :0) Joan xxxxx |

Thank you Everyone for the hugs and thoughts you have all sent. Sorry this may upset some of you but I just sat and cuddled her for about an hour. Sukie was 11 1/2 yrs old and she was fine and eating well when i left for work. As Sukie was an indoor cat and never went further than the front door it couldn't have been poison. My other 3 cats are fine. Love and hugs to you all for your messages. Sue |

Sue, If you have seen my thread today you will know that I know how you feel. It must be so much worse for you not knowing the reason and being a young cat. Is the vet going to do a post mortem in case it was poison, to protect your other cats. Thinking of you Ann Glos |

Been there, dunnit, got the tee-shirt. Awful, isn't it. But somebody once told me that if you feel like this, it's a good thing (believe it or not) - as it shows what a lovely pet you had. (((HUGS))) go to you and yours, pusscat is at peace now. x |

So sorry to hear that Sue. I know exactly how you are feeling as I have recently lost two cats, one was run over and killed outside my house two weeks before Christmas and another went missing, was found and put to sleep by the RSPCA as she was in a bad way (due to kidney problems and not having had any medication while she was missing). We were devastated and I still think of them both every day. ((((hugs to you Sue))) Linda x |
