lovely poem ade.Very true. this site is wonderful. It has helped me with coming to terms with the death of my mother, by starting to trace my rellies. Mum would always want to get the old photo's out, but as a young girl I wasn't interested. It's only now 3 years ago (she died 1996) I started to become interested. Wondering about my life and my mum, she's not here to ask and I wish I could turn the clock back. i just hope she's where-ever, looking down on me with a smile. So that's why this site is wonderful and the people on here who have helped me over the years. My mum was my best friend. |

Sue being on the net can be a life line for some people, those that are house bound ect. my friend in NZ had a leg amputated last year and now she has to have the other leg removed in a few weeks we are all there for her even tho she a world away in miles, when we chat on the mic she is right in the room with me. I am very lucky to have found people that accept me for me, not for who they want me to be, as we all know our real life pals we meet down the pub and at work or where ever we meet them, sometimes you have change a bit to fit into there life, this way i can be just me nowt else just me and if people like me they do if not thats ok but i dont have to pretend to be anythig i am not lol. Can i chuck my pennys worth in please. I have had a group of friends that i meet nearly 10 tears ago on the internet, we all share the same interests at the core of our relationship dogs lol, but over the last 10 years we have shared births, deaths, divorce, poor health, and always been there for each other, yes we have had our falling outs but friendship real friendship never goes away. These friends are from all walkes of life poor to rich black to white, from an Eskimo in Alaska to NZ these are people i would never have met grown close to and yes love without the computer. I have meet some face to face and had a great time some i will never meet face to face. The best one was this christmas when two of my friends one from Spain and one from the states finaly got togeather and married and invited all of us to go but most of us could not attend so the whole wedding was shown to us via a web cam it was just an awsome thing. And since i have been on the boards here i am starting to make new friends that i may meet or not but that does not matter I am just an email away if they want to chat or i can help. So a big thanks to all my new friends. Steve xx |
