Diana, I just thought of this poem and hope it may help. ''You can shed tears that he is gone, Or you can smile because he lived, You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him Or you can be full of the love that you shared, You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on, You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. ''

Always with you, he will stay Close by you, guiding through the day Hold your hand and comfort too When things get tough he’ll see you through There’ll come a time before too long When all seems right and nothing’s wrong He’ll loose his hand and step aside Asking ‘How many tears is that you’ve cried?’ In Daddy tones he’ll speak to you And tell you what you’ve got to do.. ‘Enough’s enough, be happy now… Get on with life you silly…’ DADDY!! Sorry - the last two lines popped into my head - I think I had help and I HAD to put them! Glad it went better than expected. Love and hugs Mags xxxx

Diana - feel glad that you were able to give your daddy the send off he deserved, with his friends and true family round you to help and give their own tributes. LIfe will be strange and sad for you now but time does ease pain, even tho we can't imagine it at the time, and if you feel down, try and remember a good thing to cheer you again. Your daddy will always be with you to help and support you, just in a different way. Take care, Liz

Saw this verse in our local paper today and thought of you Diana. To all who have a Dad, Give him your love and care, For the hardest thing in life to bear, Is to want your Dad and he's not there. But Dad's never really die, They just keep pottering about in the sky, And in that Heavenly Home above, They wait to welcome those they love. It's a bit like the verse I put on the Mother's Day thread. Liz

Diana, I am glad it all went off smoothly. Now you can get that woman out of your hair, & just concentrate on your happy memories of your father. Those will never leave you - I know that because I lost my own precious father over 22 years ago, but I still have his photo beside me on my PC, & I think of him all the time. Thinking of you, Carole
