Gwyneth, You could still get those stamp books here in the early 1980's. They were great. But they went by mid 80's. :( You can still get the stamps now though just not the books (in Aust anyway) Vonny

We used to have text cards which we kept in our bibles, we were given the card one week and had to learn the text for the following Sunday. We had an attendance register and I won two pictures, both first for a whole year without missing a Sunday. (If we went away we got a mark if we attended church or Sunday school whre we were. They had thought of the name Joy among other names, Vonny, but they hadn't decided which to give me. I was born at 1pm. My brother and sister went to Sunday school in the afternoon, and came home with that text - and when they saw it, they felt that I just *had* to be called Joy!!! :-)

Ann, no I'm remembering (I looked up Jesus bids us shine because I would still be typing!!) I learn by listening so I must have been very susceptible to songs when I was small. :) I also taught Sunday School and some of the old choruses were still used. Vonny

Thank you all for your replies. I didn't expect so many and thanks for reminding me of some I had forgotten. Here is another one My cup is full and running over Since the Lord saved me, I'm as happy as can be My cup is full and running over. We used to have weekly texts too and also a prize for going every week. I won several books and also I remember a lovely doll I was given one Christmas at the Christmas Party. We also had a Sunday School outing every Summer which included races etc. and a lovely tea. This has started my husband and I reminiscing and it's so good to bring back old memories.
