English,Irish,Scottish,Australian and possibly American! Christine x

allsorts! I've just finished loading it all in, there's welsh, prussian, german, scottish, irish and english all mixed in there, and thats only what i already knew! wait til i discover more!

All my Ancestors as far as I have traced were English. However their descendants have gone to Burma, India, Australia, USA, New Zealand, South Africa and Canada.

All Essex (maternal) or Somerset (paternal) and nothing in between! Tina

All born in good old Blighty, and not where we thought in Sheffield but in London, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Sedgley, and Halifax - except for Mother in law and her ancestors who are all southern Ireland, but that is one big brick wall Joanne

Dads side are English from Yorkshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire. Mums side, Irish (somewhere in Leitrim) Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Lincolnshire, Lancashire, and a possible link with Cornwall. Gem:)))

Cornish and... nope, nowt else, Cornish. lol

English thru and thru all sides! Have one branch that I can't get back past 1851 - possible Scandinavian heritage on there. The rest I have back to at least 1800 and all English. Maz. XX

most of em came from Essex/Middlesesex/east London,BUT what did surprise me was that my paternal grandfather & his family were German. We had been told there was german in the family but thought it was way back if it was true!! But it was only two generations back from me & I found the grt gran had been buried in our local council cemetery which did surprise me as had paid many a visit there to put flowers on my bros grave who died aged 3months in 1930,& later to visit my maternal granparents graves too. Shirley, the same thing happened to me. My Great Great - and so one for about four generations - grandparents are all buried in my local cemetary. Never even knew they were from this area before I started doing my tree.

How exactly do you analyze a nationality? For example, is been a South African really a nationality,? Just because they are born there and by birthright have South African nationality, it does not mean that they have their roots there! They are a mixture of English, Scotch, Irish, Welsh, Dutch, German, French, Portuguese Chinese, Indian, Malay and a mixture of Black African Tribes, that speak different languages and have different cultures. Paul, What is 'South African ' blood? You could have been born there with parents from the U:K: Lindy ;-)))))))))

I personnaly would say Sarf African blood to be one of the native tribes from there.

Are you ready! If i go purley on places where my ancestors were born I get, Mothers side, France, USA, Canada, Brazil (My grandfather), They were siblings! Their parents were born Austria and Hungary. Uncles born Germany, Spain, Romania and Croatia. Oh and England! On dads side, Ireland and possibly Spanish going right back. Pat

Going back on my Mums side thro her father the family would seem to be Huguenots & Walloons back in the pre 1800,s. Blimey wot a mongrel lot we are!!

Paul, I cannot argue with that! But, where does it put the South Africans that immigrated there? It still does not satisfy my curiousity! Lindy ;-))))))))))))
