First film I ever saw was Dumbo and I bawled my eyes out when they took his Mum away. Have never been able to watch it since. In fact, so many children's films involve missing/dead mums and dads: snow white cinderella bambi the lion king the jungle book the railway children On the reverse, missing children, I cried like mad when I saw Missing, when Kate Nelligan is walking along with her groceries and notices the police car stopping outside her house - out steps her son who has been missing, presumed dead for months. She drops the groceries and runs to him, sob sob!!! nell

The Railway Children. 'Daddy, Oh my Daddy'! There must be lots more, but that is the first one I thought of. I saw it for the first time when I was about 11 and me and my school friend bawled our eyes out! Claire xx

Yes, my kids always laugh at my husband because Jenny Agutter saying 'It's my daddy' always makes his eyes moist!
