'Superior' Meat Loaf - straight from the Lipton Soup box -- 1 pouch of Onion Soup Mix 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 cup ketchup (tomato sauce) 1/2 cup fine bread crumbs 2 lbs lean ground beef Preheat oven to 350(180). Blend together soup, eggs, ketchup and breadcrumbs. Add beef and combine well. Shape into a 9x5 inch (2L) loaf pan. Bake 70 mins. Serves 8. I usually smear tomato sauce over the top before I bake - my husband's mother used to do it, therefore when I feed her son.......

Yet one more recipe that makes a small amount of minced beef go a very long way (the amount of beef according to what you have or can afford) Bake jacket potatoes Fry off the mince - adding whatever you want in the way of herbs etc Halve and scoop out spuds into bowl Stir in mince Shove back into jacket potato skins Grate cheese on top Return to oven until cheese melted and going brown Also nice with chopped bacon instead of mince. Mags x Oh - and why do weeds flourish when garden plants wither during drout when garden plants started off as wild flowers?
