Breakfast when I remember but about 8.30 at weekends. Lunche about 12.30. Dinner about 8 or 9pm. Doesn't leave time for supper! Jacky :-)

Alter Ego, I agree it,s not up for debate. Dinner is at lunch- time ( as in school dinners, - enjoyed? by me in the late 30s). Ask any peasant and they will agree with me. Happy days

Breakfast Lunch Tea if its an afternoon snack likes cakes and tea Dinner is a family meal in the evening Supper if its a late evening meal and not too heavy. The term dinner has been corrupted by having dinnerladies at schools.Its lunch at midday ,its not up for debate :~))

Sorry Harry, I dont mean to alter your thread, but why do they do chicken,beef,lamb,turkey and even sausage gravy, but not one for pork - or do you just use chicken.....just a thought..

Good old peasant dinner being started now - Jersey Royals in skins with spring onions, pork loin, spring greens and gravy for MiL and me, ready at 12 & I'm starving already.....

I always think of lunch being a snack and dinner being a full cooked meal. I cook mid-day ish So we have Breakfast Dinner about 1pm Tea about 6 pm Heather

Dinner at lunchtime - if that makes sense. Peasant at heart, and glad to be. Ancestors either digging below ground (miners) or above it (farmhands).......

Dinner, anytime between 19:00h and 20:00h Tea is a brew that I drink various times during the day. Lindy ;-)))))))))))))))))

When i met my first husband he said he would make me tea/dinner and that I should go to his house accordingly. Of course we had different ideas as to when tea/dinner was so he was furious that I had STOOD HIM UP!!!!!.......He was expecting me at midday and I of course turned up in the evening! Suzanne X
