Fabulous Deanna. It was such a happy day and so much fun. Will email details to you tomorrow or later this evening. My favourite bit was this reading in the wedding ceremony, brilliant done by Henry and so perfect for Jan and Rick. Us Two Wherever I am, there's always Pooh, There's always Pooh and Me. 'Where are you going today?' says Pooh: 'Well that's very odd 'cos I was too. >'Let's go together,' says Pooh, says he. 'Let's go together,' says Pooh. 'What's twice eleven?' I said to Pooh, ('Twice what?' said Pooh to Me.) 'I think it ought to be twenty-two.' 'Just what I think myself.' said Pooh. 'It wasn't an easy sum to do, But that's what it is,' said Pooh, said he. 'That's what it is,' said Pooh. 'Let's look for dragons,' I said to Pooh, 'Yes, let's,' said Pooh to Me. We crossed the river and found a few - 'Yes, those are dragons all right,' said Pooh. 'As soon as I saw their beaks I knew. 'That's what they are,' said Pooh, said he. 'That's what they are,' said Pooh. 'Let's frighten the dragons,' I said to Pooh. 'That's right,' said Pooh to Me. 'I'm not afraid,' I said to Pooh. And I held his paw and I shouted 'Shoo! Silly old dragons!' and off they flew. 'I wasn't afraid,' said Pooh said he, 'I'm never afraid with you.' So wherever I am, there's always Pooh, There's always Pooh and Me. 'What would I do?' I said to Pooh, 'If it wasn't for you,' and Pooh said: 'True. 'It isn't much fun for One, but Two 'Can stick together,' says Pooh, says he. 'That's how it is,' says Pooh. A.A. Milne Daisy

It was a wonderful day. The bride looked beautiful, the groom looked….well….groomed! And the guests rivalled those at a royal garden party (although, of course, HRH Lynda Pace was in attendance, so it was only natural and expected that they should) The ceremony, held in a high ceilinged room with a ‘medieval’ chandelier that Errol Flynn would have been happy to swash his buckle from, was simple and moving and the readings from Paul (Chunks) and Henry were perfectly matched to the occasion as Jan and Rick are to each other. We enjoyed Pimms on the lawns while photographs were being taken, thankful for the shade of the trees; it was a VERY hot day! And then back into the hotel for lunch, where they introduced us to a new concept in wedding catering by combining the eating of fine victuals with the convenience of not having to move elsewhere or disrobe to enjoy the benefits of a sauna! LOL A brief interlude ensued between the afternoon and the evening celebrations, where a disco was enjoyed and a sumptuous buffet consumed (and Bec, poor girl, got confused and thought she was meant to consume the DJ LOL) Some danced the night away, some of us enjoyed the company of friends both old and new, chatting and drinking on the terrace where, for me personally, I experienced a time slip between thinking I ought to go to bed at around 11pm and 2am when I actually did! Over the last few weeks, I have almost lived this wedding with Jan, helping choose the dress and through fittings and shopping trips. I enjoyed every minute of it. I know I’m not and there may be others that have more claim to the role but I felt like the ‘mother of the bride’ and I’m going to get severe withdrawal symptoms now LOL Congratulations Jan and Rick, not only on your marriage but for the way the whole day went off. Mags xxxx P.S. One horrible thought for Rick – If I WERE Jan’s mum – I WOULD BE YOUR MOTHER IN LAW!!! HAHAHAHA A role I am sure you will agree I am cut out for!

How could I forget the singers??? LOL Please amend my earlier post to include: Prior to the ceremony itself, we were delighted by the presence and vocal skills of (a couple of blokes with guitars - I haven't got the energy to go upstairs and look ar the Order of The Day to see what their names were!) and the bride and groom entered the room to their rendition of 'Have I Told You Lately That I Love You' The couple were led by an absolutely adorable, cute and beautiful flower girl (my grandaughter) who not so much strew their path with rose petals but was meagre in their distribution (as in ONE at a time) because she 'wanted to save some to take home'!! 'Little Pinkette' was later heard to utter the immortal lines on peeking into her gift bag 'Jan's bought me a really BORING present! A BOX!' Big smiles when she realised that the box contained a beautiful silver locket engraved with her name. Sharon (Mrs Chunks) looking equally resplendent followed Jan and Rick and wore a wrist corsage of yellow roses which left her hands free to grapple either party to the ground should they have tried to escape. Ian, Rick's best man, gave a wonderful speech extolling Rick's expertise at the provision of 'hangover busting fry ups' and also made reference to being told by Rick of his having met someone on an internet site and his bewilderment that she and Rick shared an interest in 'gynaecology' LOL If I've forgotten anything else, I apologise! Again - a wonderful day. OMG!! While typing this, I have had mail from Jan who says that they had such a wonderful time that they are planning to get divorced so they can do it all again!!! - I'm going for a lie down!!! LOL Mags xxx
