Also hanging from rear view mirror are three air freshners...1 heart with cross on it, one is an england shirt, last one are white dice with red crosses on. Also hanging from radio is a st georges cross one of the twins made for him from some crafty stuff....... Anyone would think he's football mad???????? Flags & bunting on the house. Flags on all cars. Even the dog is sporting a St Georges collar - impressed the vet yesterday! Love all the white vans with their red crosses. Kathy

There are on average 3 fallen flags (from cars) per mile on the A13. Haven't found statistics for motorways yet. I wonder who'll clean them up? Just a passing thought. I haven't got any up, but the window is open so I can hear all the hooters going off and the neighbours can hear daughter cheering!! maggie

Nope - nasty. Still cant get over the BNP connotation! Lovely quote by a dj on LBC the other day - St Georges flags on your house - very low rent housing !!! lololol Sorry - Im sure theyre lovely - but it made me laugh!

Why is it so uncool to fly the flag of St George? I am English... I was born in England.... I have lived in England all my ife... it is MY flag. Heard you were a chav if you showed the flag on your house. BTW.. is it still low rent housing if you own the house or does it only count if you are a council tenant? Jean (proud to be a chav).

Jay (Jacqueline)

Jay (Jacqueline) Report 25 Jun 2006 18:21

No idea about the low rent housing thing - I just thought it was an amusing comment - perhaps you had to be there lol I guess that although I have lived in Britain all my life, I come from a family of travellers and circus people, so I dont feel a strong national identity. Thats why I dont give a stuff about the MY flag bit. I dont feel any national identity I guess. The one thing that I suppose is good about the flag thing is that if only for these few weeks I guess it is reclaiming it from the far right.....
