The Paul McKenna programmes that have just been rrepeated again on Sky were good. He says to Eat when you are hungry, eat what you want, eat consciously and stop when you are full. If you slow the eating down it teaches you to know when you are full, so you eat less. Together with more excercise it does help.

I have lost so much weight in the past (and put it all back on) and lost it (and put it on) I'm sure you get the drift! I've lost so much in the past I shouldn't be here! My latest venture is hypnotism! Bought some CD's by a well known TV hypnotist, and started about 10 weeks ago. Have lost 16lb so far. It's not quick but if it's permanent who cares! I can eat what I want - the only problem is, he has obviously modified my mind not to want the really evil foods, but if I want a take away, I have one. The main features seem to be, Drink water, Eat when hungry, Stop when full, Eat slowly. But it is working, and I'm not on a diet!!!!! Unfortunately I've still got about 2st to go, but I can get into more clothes from the wardrobe. Suex

You don't seriously drink 2 litres of coke a day do you? I reckon if you cut that out that you would loose some weight. Why don't you try Weight Watchers? I joined at the beginning of the year and lost a stone, my Sister is still going and has lost over 2 stone - it's not that difficult either and I'm a really fussy eater. Kaye x

I lost 5lbs last week.... Odd considering I was eating normally and drinking TOO MUCH! Must be the stress of the WC.... I'm now being sensible which involves drinking loads of water (and peeing a lot), eating dried fruit for breakfast and cutting out rubbish. Let me know when you're going for the reduction.... I'll join you. Reckon I'm carrying AT LEAST a stone on my chest... becx

Slimming World is an excellent regime - especially if you do not need to lose much weight. When you join you are given a REALISTIC target weight and once you get to that target you do not have to pay to attend the weekly weigh ins. It promotes a well balanced wholesome diet which can be tailored to your individual likes/ dislikes. By the way I believe that 'full fat' coke is one calorie per ml so that it 2000 calories per day !

Get up 2 hours earlier then you will have time for brekkie...... But if you are hung over from the voddie and coke that aint gonna work either.. LOL

Phoenix

Phoenix Report 29 Jun 2006 12:39

I honestly think you're going to just have to go cold turkey with the Coke. lol There's a lot of sugar in coke and cutting it out will make a big difference - it's not good for your health either. It's not easy - I've still got more to loose (not telling how much more, but a bit more than you) but if you put your mind to it and do it sensibly then you'll get there. Loosing just a pound or two a week is the best way to do it, that way you're more likely to keep it off than if you do a fad diet. Good luck. Kaye x

First of all please may I have the stone you lose from your chest? Secondly, you are going to have to educate yourself to eat breakfast. Bring that 2 hours forward by a few minutes each morning and then EAT! Thank you Zoe for confirming that the body starts burning energy once you eat. My hubby thinks I'm lying - he actually believes his trousers have shrunk round the waist! Finally, I've got some easy thigh, bum and abs exercises which you can do at home and believe me, press ups are much easier and more pleasurable if you imagine someone gorgeous underneath you! Daisy

Diana, The answer, as you probably realise, is to STOP eating high fat snacks and calorific drinks, and eat proper, simple, regular meals, prepared from fresh ingredients, You needn't go hungry at all. Dee x

Dear Pink, I have seen your picture on the photos page and I WISH WISH WISH I was your size and needed to loose weight. My husband died 2 1/2 years ago after a long illness, most people I know that have lost their husbands loose weight, but no not me I have pilled the stones not pounds on. I'm twice the woman I used to be, I think the only thing to do is cut myself in half.

Christine...you can't leave us in suspense like that....you have to tell us now!!!! What was seen in the bottom of the barrel???? Pink(?) could you try swapping normal coke for diet stuff??? Takes abit of getting used to but I could never go back to normal stuff....to syruppy for me now :-))) But I like your idea of a diet that is pain free and has little excersise....let me know coz I want that sort too!!! RDA.x.

Sorry Diana - agree with Chunky Paul, if it was easy and pain-free we'd all be stick insects, lol! If you can't face breakfast, try something more substantial mid-morning, yoghurt, fruit, a few nuts or cereal bar. Or have a 'filling' lunch - tuna sandwiches (no mayo!) or a jacket potato with baked beans. A brisk walk in the lunch hour is good exercise to start with. I used to work for a man who ate NO breakfast and NO lunch (well rarely he had lunch) and stuffed himself in the evening - he was always ill, bloated, had tummy probs and his breath smelt!

Paul Report 29 Jun 2006 15:45

To highlight the difference between men and womens viewpoints. Diana thinks that she carries to mush weight on her chest personally, I totally disagree lol

Paul

Paul Report 29 Jun 2006 16:08

what if you don't like tea or water ? yes, its not good for you, but neither is a lot of other stuff that we eat/drink/smoke - we have to have SOEM pleasures in life !! When I switched from normal coke to diet coke I lost half a stone in about 3 weeks. Big result. Its the lesser of two evils.

Paul

Paul Report 29 Jun 2006 16:18
