Yes that was a disgusting sight wasn't it? Poor horse would not even know what he had done. AND after that attack probably didn't know who or where he was. Deanna X

me too Bryan he said he is sorry but (no pun intended) im sure that is no comfort to the poor horse The Horseracing Regulatory Authority are supposed to be looking into it but if it wasnt for the fact that it was televised would anything have been done about it sue c x

Deanna

Deanna Report 25 Jul 2006 18:55

I doubt it Sue. He should not be allowed near a horse again. Does he think he is a such a great jockey that he could win a race WITHOUT a mount?? Deanna X

apparently, the jockey club are likely to be lenient with him, just a few days ban. it's fifteen minutes since i saw it on television, and i'm still hopping mad, so if i don't want genes to suspend me, i had better go for a walk. bryan.

calm down Bryan, I know how you feel mate. this will not do the guys reputation an good surely? He will always be known as ...... whatever his sentence. He will have to live with it forever. I am surprised they may be lenient with him. disgrace. catherine xx

He's lucky the horse didn't head-butt him back! I've known one or two that would do that, and it would have served the jockey right. Hopefully, even if the Jockey Club doesn't sanction him severely, trainers and owners will put the brakes on his career. I know I wouldn't have him riding my horse, no matter how successful a jockey he has been up to now.

Andy Report 25 Jul 2006 19:30

Well it's the tip of the iceberg isn't it? Anyone who thinks racehorses are looked after liked well loved pets is in cloud cuckoo land! Same - no even worse for greyhounds!

Yeah Andy's right, if a horse can be treated like this what hope is there for any other animal. Makes my blood boil it does. You always got the impression Jockeys love Horses don't you? How wrong could you be. catherine xx

Felicity

Felicity Report 25 Jul 2006 19:37

Many jockeys just love winning and that's part of the problem.

Sally Moonchild Report 25 Jul 2006 19:37

Horses have delicate bones in their noses and this will have caused it some pain...........up to a 21 day ban they say is the punishment for this infringement.......I would like to put his helmet on, and give him a good one in the nose, see how he likes it........

There was talk (on the news this morning) of the RSPCA getting involved. I hope they do. The jockey needs banning from ever working with animals again. Viv
