BrianW Report 3 Aug 2006 17:29

No Julie, that's an end terrace. Although, it depends on the layout, it could be a modern town house (garage on ground level, living on 1st floor, bedrooms on top).

Hi Julie, for some reason I think of town houses being over three or more stories high, often with a garage as the first storey, but I am not sure why I think that ;-))

The thing is my house doesn't look like the terraced houses in our town. It was council now a housing association which is why I was asking. I was never sure what a town house was lol.

Brian it has a separate living room and dining room plus kitchen on the ground floor and three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. There is no garage. So I guess it's a terrace that looks different to private terraces lol.

BrianW

BrianW Report 3 Aug 2006 17:36

I live in what's known here as a ranch house - forget Little House on the Prairie, it's a style of house that was built in the 1960s. We do have a daylight basement, but everthing else is on one floor. Including the Florida Room - a sun room by any other name.

3 bed 1940's semi in very small village - no shop, no public transport, but excellent pub! Overlook open green area and trees to front, fields at the back, currently one half corn and the other occupied by livery horses, but not mine! Sorry, no street lights, but also no through traffic, just a noisy helicopter every day when a chap down the road commutes to work. Jay

3 bedroom 1950's semi detatched box. Absolutely no redeeming features at all apart from the fact we live in it! LOL Suburb of Bristol not far from the High Street but quiet enough apart from 'going home time'. Back garden can be very quiet as long as next door keeps their yapping mutt in. Currently a wilderness of shrubs and dead plants. 2 double bedrooms, 1 single. Superbly appointed tiny bathroom currently nearing completion (Woo Hoo!!) Through Lounge (we took the sliding doors off LOL) Long, narrow kitchen that has an archway between the cooking end and the end for eating (haha) and where the computer sits in its cupboard. Shared driveway leading to garage and brick built lean to. It sounds sooo delightful - please form an orderly queue to arrange swap. LOL Mags xx

We live in a terraced Edwardian house. Three bedrooms. About half an hours walk from the centre of town and the seaside. I'd love to live in a village or very small town!! away from all the noise. Carol x
