Janet Report 7 Aug 2006 00:03

Susan - Three Steps to Heaven was sung by Eddie Cochrane. I loved it too. I was a member of Cliff Richard's fan club when I was 14. Used to swoon every time he sang A Girl Like You. I remember dancing with the door knob at home and pretending it was him!! Those were the days! Janet :-)

My favourite Cliff Richards is Move It and I also like Miss You Nights,as the lyrics are special! He must be doing something right he's been at the top for so many years and has thousands of fans. Why do we always knock talent when there is no sleaze? Seems he's too good to be true? No scandal....shocking!! Times I've seen him onstage he always gives a very good performance. Mau xx :O) Poirot Who DO you like??

Poirot Report 6 Aug 2006 23:26

Cliff Richards 'Plum in the Mouth' was rubbish, as well as Tom Jones and Elvis.

Cliff was ok in his heyday, you must admit he does look good for his age, some of his music I liked, some I didnt. Never could quite understand, when he was known as Britains answer to Elvis. Never in a million years. Trish x

Sue in Somerset

Sue in Somerset Report 6 Aug 2006 22:32

While I'm not a huge fan I have seen Cliff live twice. Once was a big concert about 23 years ago and it was very spectacular and well done. The second time was a smaller gospel concert Cliff did in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey. Some friends of ours were organisers and got us two tickets. We sat in a marquee about 10 feet away from Cliff and he sang live (even some requests) and played his guitar (with a broken finger from playing tennis.....for which he apologised but still managed brilliantly). He was entertaining and told funny anecdotes. He mixed in some of his big hits with his gospel songs. Our friends had driven him to the concert and said he was friendly and polite. So I can recommend him. A genuinely nice person Sue

Well! 'Boo' Hoo' to you! I have always loved his music! He is kind and generous and does a lot for charity but I think his wine is too expensive. Lindy ;-))))))))))

I agree. Poor personality, weak voice, very good agent. Prefer Tom Jones any day although I wish the old gent would stop dyeing his hair and retire gracefully. len
