I've found the meaning of Linda:- Spanish Meaning 'PRETTY ONE' origionally derived from 'linde' a germanic name element refering to lime trees. Biblical Meaning 'PRETTY SERPENT'

Hi all, I'm another Linda born 1947 and given my name by my mum. Dad wanted to call me Christine..........must have been his favourite name............but as you say, Linda was highly fashionable in the 40's & 50's. There was a total of six Linda's in my class at school, drove the teachers mad lol! Jen
