i'm not to fond of the name clarence but i do like merlyn. i wanted to call our new baby merlyn if it a boy but OH said no way!! so we settled on Billy Merlyn if its a boy.(BIllie-Jo if Girl) |

My maternal grandad was Harry GUSTAVUS Tivers, and his father was Charles RAFFLES Tivers. Gustavus and also Gideon seem to have come down the male line, but I have no idea where Raffles came from. My Gran used to tease us, saying she won him in a raffle! LOL My paternal great grandfather was George WASHINGTON Kilpatrick, and it's amazing how many Americans & Canadians with the surname Kilpatrick named their sons George Washington! But I can only claim one of them! Sue xx |

My second cousin and his wife named their little boy SPARKY!! They are both avid Man Utd supporters and loved Mark Hughes who played for them at the time, his nickname was Sparky, they must have been gutted a few months later when he was transfered to Chelsea! Rosi |

Yes it is a first name and the only one on the St Catherines Index - on the 1881 census he is just Maher......I wonder why? Seems that there is a film star in the US with the same name. He died in 1893. |

Jackie, my Dad's and brother's middle names, my Dad's Dad was a member of the salvation army and that's why my Dad has that name and my brother is named after my mother's brother. M. |
