LOL My paternal great grandfather was George WASHINGTON Kilpatrick, and it's amazing how many Americans & Canadians with the surname Kilpatrick named their sons George Washington! Yes it is a first name and the only one on the St Catherines Index - on the 1881 census he is just Maher......I wonder why? Seems that there is a film star in the US with the same name. He died in 1893.
