To go to bed tonight. I have a brand new bed with one of those memory foam mattresses. I am hoping that after 3 years of waking up several times a night with a back ache after the birth of my youngest I may well get a good nights sleep. Has anyone else had experience of memory foam mattresses? I have tested it for about twenty minutes in the shop and it felt like heaven. Hope it is the same for a whole night !!

Thanks Donna and Faith, I was starting to worry that I had been taken in by the hype even though it did feel fantastic in the shop. I will let you all know how it goes.

Well Joy according to all the spiel it cushions you so that there are no pressure points. It says it is ideal for back conditions so I am banking on it being the case. I am hoping that by the time OH realises what it cost he will be a devotee too. *gulps*

Muffy thanks for putting this thread up...my poor dad has suffered tremendously with his back over many years he has a slipped disc and slightly deformed disc in his spine, whihc cause him real agony...his been to see all sorts or people, doctors back specialists tried herbal therapys and been told to correct it he could have surgery but its risky and he didnt want to have it done ended up settling with his chiropractor, but still finds himself in agony the day after...I will forward him an email on about this magic bed...is there anything else you could tell me about it to pass onto him, and do you buy them from a normal bed shop or a specialist shop?? regards Tara

I just went to our local bed centre and lazed about on various different matresses for a bit. We have a Flexcell 20 mattress. I don't have very much info on it as I am a bit of a creature of impulse, if it feels good buy it !!! however, I am sure you will find more info on Google?
