Hello all, Make what you will of this. Around a year after my mum died I was lying awake listening to the rain and worrying about a stray cat that I knew would be out in it. The light was off and I was lying on my right side with my left hand on the top of the duvet. Imagine placing your hand on the curve of a football and having the ball with your hand on it lifted up so that your hand is 'held' in the air at full stretch for some time then slowly lowered (still curved 'over the ball') to within ten inches of the bed then dropped suddenly. I turned on the light and half expected to see someone, not frightened just perplexed...definitely not asleep or that half-way think of jerking awake. Quite comforting in an odd way, but not the type of 'contact' (?) I might have expected. Not that I really expected any!

I've seen a ghost in my house dispite us being the only people to live their as dad built it 24 years ago. I saw a girl of 12-14 dressed in a C19th blue dress with loose hair but not quite ringlets, at a guess I think she was a famers daughter and wearing her Sunday best but can't be sure. I've never seen an Angel but have felt a loving preasence since I was 4 which is stronger in certain places, I've always believed that it is my greatgrandmother and she's still watching over me now. I do believe that she is my gaurdian angel and at times when I need her she is there with a hand on my sholder. I know what it is like to doubt you own beliefs and have done it. Whn my great gran died I was only 4 and couldn't understand why she was taken from me. I was 10/11 when I was singing nonseance and the words I ended up singing restored my faith they went along the lines of :- 'if nobody ever died and others kept being born where would we have to live? For a life to begin another must die and the cycle goes round again' I'm now trainig to work with sick kids and find it hard to work with the oncology kids even though I love them. I've seen some of them become so sick so quick that we have thought we would lose tham and had to hold them whilest the doctors take bloods and give them (IV) antibiotics - I've been in tears as much as the parents on these occations because the kids just want to sleep, I've doubted my faith because of this but then the kids have managed to pull thoug after a time in ICU and the world is set to rights. Some people belive that ghosts and angels are just hoe the brain interprates tricks f the light. But I can't explain it - some people are more suseptable than others, but unless they are malisious then just accept them without questioning why they are there. Angels will come to you when you need them but they can also send you others to help when they are needed. Lunar xx

I'm always interested as to what the other 95% of our brains are for, I believe that mediums and people who see spirits can open the portal in thier brains even if its just for a fleeting moment, its such an amazing gift to unlock vaughny x

I most certainly do, my angel comes to me in times of need, although I actually believe that its my uncle watching over me rather than my angel, I saw him the moment he was shot back in 1977, hard to believe as i was only 3 months old, I know this as I asked my mum about it and described the room exactly. (I was in england and he in Ireland) When I had my first baby 7 years ago because of a NHS 'error' I almost died, the docs told my parents to say goodbye, but that night I felt him with me in the room, I was in and out of concseness but knew he was there for me, and I pulled through. vaughny x

Next time someone tells you they don't believe, ask what evidence they have and are they aware they are in a minority. A BBC survey showed that 69% of adults claim to have had a paranormal experience. From the scientific aspect, the paranormal is quite logical and to not understand this is to admit to lack of intelligence. len

Hello Suzanne, I believe in Angels, and I believe in what you saw that day in the cemetery. You hang on to your beliefs Suzanne. I'm not going to get involved in the brain thingy, I just believe in what I believe, sounds strange eh. I'm no scientist etc, so wouldn't even hazard a guess as to why I have these beliefs, just to say, 'Yes I Believe in Angels ' Baz xx

libby, read your thread and it reminded me of something that happend with my own daughter when she was 18months old my auntie died of breast cancer when my daughter was nearly one,she never knew her,but from the age of 18months i would find my daughter standing up in the cot talking to the wall, one day i heard her talking and decided to hide by the door and see if i could hear her talking,by chance i heard her say my aunties name and start laughing,she was really giggling as if she was being tickled,when i went in she was standing up in her cot,as soon as she saw me she stopped talking and pointed to the wall,there was nobody there of course,but that incident has stayed with me all those years,and my daughter whos 24 now doesnt remember any of it.xxx

Owned a pub from 1995 until 2002. There had been a pub on the site for well over hundred years - our pub was built in the 1930's. Daughter was just under 12 months old when we moved there. She regularly talked about the little girl she played with during the night from the age of two. I know that children, especially girls, are susceptible to seeing spirits (excuse the location) but this spooked me. Juke box regularly turned itself on during the night. She sang songs in Welsh (living there at the time) not taught to her at nursery school. Apologies to any Welsh speakers, she was taught Welsh but not these particular songs. She is a very sensitive girl even now and takes everyones cares on her shoulders. Wish her little Welsh friend would visit her now. She needs her at the moment. Libby xx

i mentioned this on here a couple of years back, so will just give a short version now. went out with a girl of 20, who was a widow, yes far too young, but her husband was killed in a car crash, his name was similar to mine... brian. i said goodnight to her, and walked toward my car, as i neared it i felt a ' presence ' as i opened the car door, i had this overwhelming feeling that someone was sitting in the car, i closed the door, and drove off, doing no more than 5 miles per hour, as i was so scared that the stearing wheel would be snatched out of my hands. the next night, i told her what had happened, and to my amazement she said ' oh, that was only brian, making sure you got home safely ' bryan.

i believe we have people watching over us, we have to sometimes, things too weird happen to be explained sometimes, daughter had mum watching her im sure she was sat in the back seat the day she crashed her car

Bryan. More often than not, these things are usually caught with the peripheral vision - seen towards one side, unless the viewer is a medium in which case it is 'mindsight'. In mindsight the vision is perceived directly by the brain but interpreted by the visual cortex so it appears that the eye was used as receptor. In this context, the blind can 'see' objects. Read up about 'blindsight' if you are interested in the blind 'seeing'. It was a long time ago that I read about seeing paranormally but there was a very good reason, something to do with the receptors in the middle of the eye or retina being particular good for colour vision and static objects whereas the peripheral vision was particularly good at picking up fleeting motion. On the other hand, peripheral vision is not good with colour although the brain is very good at interpreting and 'filling in' the details. len

i've not mentioned this before to anyone, but a few months back, i was watching television when i realised that a lady was standing to my left, wearing a brown tweed jacket and long skirt, but within a couple of seconds of me turning my head, she was gone, it didn't shock or surprise me, as i do believe in spirits, and i know she meant me no harm. bryan.

Bryan. I am certainly brave enough to stand in front of my peers and say I believe in life after bodily death. I am also sufficiently knowledgeable about the subject to hold my own in any debate. My I.Q is (or was - allowing for ageing) 156 and I did creditably well at physics and chemistry so can make a good case. To those who say the mind/soul does not live on, I would say 'can you prove that it does not?' and see what sort of case that they can make, then dismantle it. len

Suzanne. Sorry, I did not make myself clear, trying to be too concise. It quite difficult to convey thoughts accurately into type. Even then they can be read differently from what was intended. I am quite sure you saw an angel, or entity. Children have paranormal powers that adults often knock out of them. You are extraordinarily fortununate to have had the gift. To have retained the memory probably means you still have the ability. What I was trying to say was that paranormal powers are part of the human make-up and there is no law of physics or nature which says otherwise. There is no reason either why it should be confined to humans. len

Hiya Suzanne YES I believe, most definately. Far too many thing's have happened in my life for not to believe. Not only do I see spirit's but when I was with my ex-partner of seven year's he felt them too, and see two what he describes as angel's when he was spiked with drug's in his drink at a nightclub and collapsed. My partner now (fiancee) has had experiences with spirit's. One which only happened last week. We were sleeping and he awoke in the night, feeling odd, he told me something was stroking with what seemed like a finger from his toe up to his ankle back and forth on top of the duvet. He see I was asleep, the baby was in her nursery asleep in her cot, and our two jack russells sleep downstair's in our hallway. He said it took him a while to get back to sleep, but he didn't feel frightened. I have been whispered too, felt hands on my shoulders, given warning's before they have happened, felt spirit's energy when reading & healing, heard spirit say 'Sleep' to my baby when she was unwell, seen four spirit dog's, and had many many premonition's of danger and sadness before it's happened when connected to my family and loved one's and friends. All you have to be is open-minded, not afraid of the unknown and it help's to believe in them and yourself also.

No I don't believe in 'angels' but as Bryan said kids and animals pick up more than adults. I do believe in ghosts and all that comes with it. I do believe that what u saw as a child was real. Don't doubt yourself
