hi suzanne, yes i believe we all have a guardian angel, but i think we have to open our hearts and minds for them to enter our space. ' if a raindrop touches your nose, smile, because that's just me kissing you ' bryan.

I believe in consciousness/mind/soul being an independent (of body) entity. But when I was younger used to worry about the skeletal construction of angels with both wings and arms. Sometimes I pondered the usefulness of the wings and doubted their aerodynamics. len

The story reminds me of several others in a book I once read....not sure of the title but it was something like Life Before Birth and gave instances of children who remember scenes from a previous life...............one girl in a car with her mother as it passed a cemetry said to her mother that she remembers being buried there and showed her mother the grave...it was the grave of her sister who had died before this girl was born and her mother had never mentioned it to her

When my grandaughter was about two and half years old, she attended a local playschool which was held in an old mill. One day she became hysterical and said that she didn't want to go there anymore because two old men kept staring at her, yet there were no men in the building. Consequently, she was moved to another playgroup and shortly after, she got up one morning and said that an angel had been to see her, and told her that there was no more need to be afraid. It certainly makes you think, especially from one at such a young age.

quote from len, I believe in consciousness/mind/soul being an independent (of body) entity. so do i len, but surely they are governed by neuro transmitters in the brain, without which, we could not use bodily functions, such as moving hands/legs etc, therefor how are they independant? bryan.

Len of the Chilterns

Len of the Chilterns Report 5 Dec 2006 00:06

A person whose brain is without that little extra spark is referred to as in a vegetative state. They may or may not recover consciousness, Scientific research indicates that consciousness may leave the body - and sometimes return. If there is no electrical activity in the brain, the person is designated brain-dead. Unless the blood is kept oxygenated and circulating artificially the brain will be terminally damaged within minutes. Studies, notably in Holland, show that brain-dead people who are resussitated, usually youngish people, may produce memories of the personnel involved, the equipment and activities made to revive them. Their impression is 'observing from outside the body'. There is no other adequate explanation. There's much about this in other threads. len

colin, i remember the meeting with the angel,as if it was yesterday, but my mum who was only a few feet away from me didnt see a thing, it wasnt attention seeking,as i was the eldest child, and didnt need any more attention,as i hd a very loving mum and dad, but its strange that i can remember every detail except what the angel said, even today more than thirty years later.xx

Suzanne Report 5 Dec 2006 00:11

len, what are you saying??i was a normal 6yr old child when i saw an angel, i grew up to gain 9 gcses and 7 o levels,(so no brain damage there)are you getting mixed up with near death experiances???.xx

Colin

Colin Report 5 Dec 2006 00:16

Hello Suzanne......hope you did not misunderstand..the use of the word story was not meant to imply that what you said was made up................or perhaps I am now misinderstanding what you have written........ Anyway..sadly I have never seen an angel..........I did however see my dog jump upon my bed one night even though he had died a day before.............

Unknown Report 5 Dec 2006 00:28

suzanne...no ' a ' levels :o) len, that's an out of body experience, that can arise in many forms, such as meditating on a bed. i agree with all you have said, but who has ever been brave enough to stand in front of his peers and prove it. i would respectfully suggest, that no one, fully understands the workings of the brain, but when they do, and it will happen one day, the world will be a much happier place. bryan.

Suzanne

Suzanne Report 5 Dec 2006 00:30
