Do you know of a romantic place to visit just for the two days and one night that we can get to either by eurotunnel or eurostar??? We can't go for much longer as our daughter who will be 19 months old then, is being looked after by my mother, and we don't want to be away fro her for too long....

Bruges is a picturesque, but small town. Paris is a large vibrant city with many famous landmarks to visit and things to do. Jay

Fly - much, much cheaper than the train. Plenty of charm in Dublin. Jay

We went to Paris for a romantic night a couple of years ago - flew by easyjet - look on the website , probably cheaper than eurotunnel. We went up the eiffel tower (at night) & had dinner there - very pretty - then had romantic walk along the river.

Thankyou everyone... I was a little worried about Bruges.......it did look in brochure that there's not much there. You say fly to paris, but we are concerned that the plane might be delayed or cancelled, and been told by travel agents that it only takes 3hrs by eurotstar and takes us right into the centre of paris. As we dont have long to spend there we want quick travel (somewhere not too far to get too) and somewhere that is romantic and has things to see and do, paris sounds like it has them qualities. Thank you for advice guys xxxx Tara

Tara Both places are special. But if you only have a short time I would go to Brugges, I have been to both places, we were not so keen on Paris, I think any where is special if you are with the one you love. It is what you make of it that makes it so special, I think people make too much of Paris about how romantic it is, I found it very busy and not at all romantic oh and we got riped off a couple of times.

Thank you.... You are soo right, it's what we make of it that makes it special.....and we cannot wait to spend some quality time togeather just the two of us, without having to be mummy or daddy, as much as we love our little one.

Agree with you Annie - many years ago, all we could afford was a borrowed tent and a campsite. It rained every day and we had to stay put as the tent was never dry enough to take down and move on. But we had a great time - our first holiday together and it was special to us. Over the last 30 years, our budget has grown and we've been to more exotic locations. I've loved all of them, because we've been together and have shared memories of the places we've seen and the experiences we've had. I'll down tools and go off with him tomorrow if he asks - it's the being with him that counts. He still has the same big brown eyes and can make me laugh . Beggar the location - it's fun wherever we are. Jay
