Hope he gets on ok, I knew someone who was a helicopter winchman in the services, and he was there, said it was a wonderful place. |

You not going with him, Hayley? Didn't I hear you'd applied for a part-time job? Swimming in the waters to scare the sharks away! lol Sorry, couldn't resist that. I shouldn't make jokes like that; it's not funny *frowns her best frown* Hope it goes well. x (My daughter's given up the idea of the Army: too much like hard work apparently. She wants an easy life) |

Hayley,my oh did a year tour of Belize. He says the local bottled beer is called Belikin, also known as belly-ache beer, the other local drink is white rum and it has a kick. If he talks about 'The Rosie'he will be talking about Rauls Rose Garden which is a Brothel !!! If he has time off the Blue Hole Coral Reef is a great place to go,there is also a lot of Mayan ruins to visit and Cancun in mexico is about an hours flight away. lorraine |

Hayley - he'll have a whale of a time. Went to Belize a few years ago with a combined services caving expedition. (I wasn't in forces just have the right contacts). If he gets the chance tell him he must do some diving on the reefs - they're fantastic. But also tell him to stay away from the Belizian homebrew it's lethal. And if sleeping out of camp he needs to put a hammock up in trees rather than sleep on ground. Beautiful country with only the odd deadly snake. Machetes are very useful in the jungle. But much cheaper to buy there. Sorry just read back through this and it reads scary. Not meant that way. I spent 6 weeks over there and the worst I got was a bit of sunburn. Hope he enjoys it and don't worry about him. (I know you're a mum - they're designed to worry) T.O.R. ;o)) |

Thankyou everyone... Sandra dont get me started on the ruddy Army expects our boys and go and fight for the country and they have to supply their own uniforms even McDonalds give you a uniform if you work for them..and they have to pay to keep there kit insured....when he went to Iraq he bought his own flap jacket.... |
