A week in England, which is not strictly a holiday. Am seeing the consultant for a check up on my eyes and possible laser treatment for scarring after the cataract op. Also hoping for a week in Barcelona, not been for 10 years, and we do have direct flights from Funchal, although it does stop in Lisbon on the way back. Rosalind |

No holidays away planned yet. Taking mum to New York end of year for long weekend (need to sort) and OH and I will try and get some long weekends in Eurpoe (work permitting) Reason for no main holiday is we are hosting 2 children from Chernobyl for 2 weeks in August. Unfortunately I have a part time job and boss there has stated I can not have those 2 weeks on top on my holiday allowance. Nice of him NOT. Mind you for the last 2 years I have taken about 10 unpaid days leave (each year) as job not as important as time with OH. Hope you all enjoy whatever you do and where-ever you go. T.O.R. ;o)) |

Hi Irish Girl Sorry just seen you replied I went twice to Acapulco-oh it was fab. Where are you going? The divers off the rocks were amazing-Food is great but you got to barter and don't accept the price they say, it's all peso's. You can haggle them down, they expect it. First time I went they had never seen British Currency, I was showing the locals a tenner with the queens head on they were amazed. Few years later I went again-british currency was everywhere, but the us dollar, you get more for. Mexican people are lovely and very friendly. Sure you will have a great time. catherine xx |

Annabell we went on the Indian Pacific a few years ago thought we would get bored but really enjoyed it it stopped a few times to let us off for a while and will always remember stopping off at a tiny wee place called Crook in the middle of nowhere with about 40 houses where the kiddies from the local school were singing Christmas carols in about 40o it was lovely. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did Norah |

My MIL's family are having a reunion in June, just for a weekend, they live New York. OH and I are planning on going for a week, getting together with the family will be great but we want to spend some time looking around the city as well. Then hopefully later in the year I'll get 2 weeks home to England by myself, not that I don't love being with the Oh and kids but I am looking forward to travelling around the different places my Ancesters lived and doing some research. Not easy when you have children whinning at you. Fiona. x |

We're probably going to be spending a few weeks in South America looking for some properties to buy. I'm going to try to twist his arm into taking me to probably the Bahamas or maybe the Turks and Caicos for a couple of weeks R&R! Other than that we have the dutiful family stuff - his cousin in Devon, my Niece and cousin in Yorkshire and another cousin in Liverpool! Plus another cousin has asked us to go to the war graves in France with them to visit our Gt Uncles grave - so we're looking forward to that, as we have been tracing our trees together. AL |
