Thanks Theresa, Pat and Webster :-) she is ok with it, but her 'best' friend at primary keeps texting her saying how much she will miss her. On Monday I bet she finds loads more of her friends are going there too. Maz. XX |

Maz, sorry she didnt get one of her first choices hun my eldest didnt get his and ended up going to a school with pretty much none of his friends coz they all went to a school we had no hope of getting into coz of where we lived. He ended up in a class with only one kid he knew....a girl!!! lol he did find it difficult in the first couple of weeks but soon settled in.....he is now nearly 17, left last september and is at college in london....the school.....even though considered to be the worst in the area....did him proud......he got on really well with the teaches, one of who wrote him a fantastic reference for college enabelling him to get an unconditional offer before he even took his GCSE's. I am sure your daughter will settle in too, and will make lotes of new friends there...good luck to her in her new school maz xx |

Hi Maz, Im sure she will do well wherever she goes. I think it's mostly down to the child anyway. My sister and I went to the same school, had the same upbringing etc. I did really well at school (for that school anyway) but my sister didnt pass any of her GCSE's. Pat x |

Hi Girls, sorry to be so late - couldn't get on here! Well, she didn't pass the 11+ I'm afraid - but then neither did ANY of her friends who took it! I'm very surprised that no-one did. She has been allocated the Academy which is within walking distance (it was her 4th choice - after the 2 selectives that she didn't get it, then a girls school that we knew we probably wouldn't get as we don't live near enough). It became an Academy in September - it has been the worst school in the borough for a number of years, but is being completely rebuilt with fantastic top-line facilities and has a new dynamic and ambitious Headteacher. I am glad that some really nice girls from her class are going there. She is happy enough - the only problem for her is that her 2 best friends are going elsewhere, but she makes friends easily and I'm sure she will be fine. Thanks everyone for your concern! Maz. XX |

Star your school should inform you of what to do and when, our did. Had booklets sent out In the Sept of Yr 6 Every borough is slightly different. We had the veiwing of the high schools in the Sept the twins evtered yr 6, then the applications had to be had with the education dept by mid Nov. try calling your local council and ask tospeak to admissions they should be able to advise you. but if you're triplets are yr 6 this Sept - then i think I can safely say you'll start it all in Sept!!! |

Hi girls ! Shelli - congrats :-) glad you got what you wanted - they will come round to the idea !! Kate - if he only just missed out, there is still a chance he will get in - some of those awarded places may choose a private school, or may move house. Don't give up hope!! Sue - congrats to you too! Jeanette - sorry to hear that :-( very best of luck with your appeal. Well, I have 2 letters here - one from my borough giving the allocation and one from the 11+ borough. BUT I had to promise Charlotte that I wouldn't open it .... she wants to do it with me after school ... it's driving me INSANE !!! I'm counting the minutes! Will let you know later! Maz. XX |

Devastated! Olivia has been allocated a place at a school over 10 miles away. We do not live in the catchment area for the school we wanted but she has been attending the feeder school since she started. There are two other children in the same position as Olivia........one has got a place at the same school as her, the other has been given a place at the school at the top of our street. The appeal starts now! Jeanette :-(((((((((((((( |

Thanks maz Told him when he got home. he was over the moon. He sat his 11+ but missed it by 1 point for passing. Was gutted we had to have our 14 year old dog put to sleep on the monday and then he sat the test on the sat. so I feel i maybe to blame, but wasn't sure what to do for the best at the time. But he will do well where ever he goes he's a bright boy bless him. Kate |
