Thanks Gwynne and Jude Rach doesnt have tourettes as bad as Pete from big brother she doesnt have the ticks but does use swear words when anxious which makes it harder for her if she is worried about her saying or typing swear words or what point she is trying to put across. once she is comfortable with people she hardly uses them unless she means to of course like we all do at times lol meercat just seen your other post no not offended at all we both knew that there could be many opinions on this and were open to them all. thankyou for your honesty and as i said before that is our fears too. Morning Jax:o)) Just been reading this thread, gosh l did'nt realise people were effected in this way with Tourettes. l do remember seeing abit of Big Bros, there was a lad on there that had it, he would spurts of agitated or different behaviour (does that sound right??). It must be so difficult for your friend. l 'm also willing for her to pm me if she needs her threads vetted before she posts. And l quite agree GR should be more updated with situations like this and ready to deal with individual cases. l admire them for the way they turned Jennifers situation around - so praps they can have a wee think on this one too:o)) Take care:o) jude sarf wales :o) x

If Rachel is really worried maybe she could pm what she wants to post to someone for it to be 'vetted' before she adds. I'd be happy to be on a list of volunteers she could mail. I wouldn't want her to be put off joining but not everybody will know about her condition and may complain to her by pm or to GR which may upset her. Gwynne

Jenny thanks for your support if you wanna know anything pm me and I will answer you the best I can :o) glad my thread has brought this to the attention of people that were not aware of the condition Daphne I will add a thread to tips and record office hun but have been waiting for her to get a better response from GR if she does decide to upgrade I will put a thread up introducing her and her condition on each board thanks xx

Jax, just a thought but if your friend does upgrade and will be using the Record Office etc boards could you put a message about Tourettes on them too as a lot of people on those don't come on this board and might take offence at any threads or replies she might write not knowing the situation. It seems to me she's behaving in a very sensible way and shame on GR for not acknowledging that. Daphne xxx

Meercat You have just hit the nail on the head lol This is what mine and Rachels fears are and a reason she is wary of upgrading. She would try to edit her post but is scared she may leave a swear word in by mistake then face a ban which she would hate to happen. But because GR seem to be bypassing the real problem it seems they dont care as long as thye get the cash. This is why Steves idea of a swear word filter that they use on their other sites would be an advantage on here it would stop all of us being able to swear if it be by accident in Rachels case or if it is used in temper as I know I have once. I think she should join, it would be a shame for her to miss out on help and support with her tree. We can all look out for her posts and point out if anything slips.

I wouldnt be offended by what she put, and I think having the word in her user name is a good idea, and pm-ing her if we notice anything afoot is also a good idea. I really dont think she should miss out on having some fun, and being able to use a valuable tool for info for her tree. Clare x
