Dee, good idea, but think I will be sleeping. Flying Emirates, so would not get bored anyway, have screens in back of seats for films etc. |

Good luck and bon voyage, Keith! My husband has worked in Abu Dhabi for the last fifteen years and now my younger son has joined him out there. On my last visit we had a trip to that area you will be in and stayed overnight in a hotel on the beach. I hope you really enjoy yourself. It is a completely different lifestyle. A good place to learn to dive Joanna |

Joanna, was it the Hilton by any chance? I stayed in the Al Diar Siji hotel last time I was there. A VERY nice 5* place paid for by the company :-) |

Unfortunately, Keith, no it wasn't the Hilton! it was a hotel right on the edge of the town, with a huge pool like warm soup that we had all to ourselves for hours until it got dark. We did have lunch in the Hilton though. Lovely. And really not as daunting as some of them. I do envy you - it is a good way of life out there. I hope you really enjoy yourself. Jo |

Well have you ever felt like an idiot? I do lol. Had e-mail Tuesday evening that said my flight was tonight, so when the e-ticket came through, did not bother checking it. I went to check in online last last and it did not recognise my booking ref. Hmm, whats wrong here thinks I. Checks the e-ticket and the flight is tomorrow night!! So you have to put up with me today hehe. |

Karen, its about half an hours drive away to the northern border. I believe that there is an enclave of Oman actually in Fujairah, as well as at the tip of the peninsula. And of course, its just across the straits of Hormuz to Iran. |
