I got up at 5.30 to lovely weather again, consequently two breakfasts - cereal first then I swept up the fallen wisteria petals. It looks lovely in bloom but once the flowers go I seem to be sweeping up morning and night. Back indoors to another coffee and a bacon buttie.

A good night for me - about 6 hours slumber

I meant to say yesterday that when the storm had subsided I got up to attend to a noisy door and noticed a fusty smoky smell. It would have been that house fire :-0 :-(

Joy, a house in my area was struck by lightning. Everyone got out ok.

I am about to get ready as I have my new sliders to pick up after 1 pm but before that I want to go to the garden centre. I realised yesterday that while the patio at the back of my house has loads of filled tubs - some about to blossom - at the front I have not done anything and I need to fill the tubs which (bar one) hold weeds! Some welcoming colour is needed there. :-D

Oh, Island. They were unlucky then lucky.

My cousin in Axminster had a battery fire. His house was not ablaze, only black smoke everywhere. He is now in rented accommodation (paid for by the insurance company) while the cleaners get to work, also paid for by his insurance.

You never know what can happen. :-(

Started quite overcast this morning but now the sun is out although a really strong breeze.

Von - glad you got a better nights sleep. Unfortuntely for me something woke me up at about 4 am and I couldn't get back to sleep so today I feel pretty rubbish. I don't do well with not enough sleep !

No hint of breeze here this morning, everywhere was so still.

I think it is just a little cooler than yesterday though, although still very sunny,but no sign yet of the possible showers that might be coming our way.
We could certainly do with rain, but at least I am in a part of Kent that still has a water supply.
I can't imagine what it must be like trying to cope without water in this heatwave. :-0
