I wear mostly linen during the warmer weather. If it is not ironed, it looks like a dishcloth :-D :-D

LondonBelle

Nearly all sports Gwyn, except golf :-D :-D

He has always cheered on the ladies football and rugby teams since they started showing them on tv. He appreciates they get stuck in, not like some of the Premier footballers. :-)

I think the ladies matches in both rugby and footie are a lot quicker and more respectful of the game :-D :-D

Ah yes.
I remember the girls school changed their summer uniform to include a mid-blue skirt with linen content.
It said 'hand-wash' on the care label.
How practical was that?

It looked great, when freshly pressed, but by the time the girls got to school on the bus, it looked like a wrung out rag :-0

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 9 May 2026 19:49

How stupid was that Gwyn :-0 Also, the uniforms cost an arm and a leg :-0

Drama Queen had a kilt as part of the uniform. It was £40 then, 30 years ago. We had to take it to the 3 hr cleaners, no way could we have bought 2 kilts. :-0 :-0

My uniform when I was 11 and changing schools was bought to last.

I swear my grey gaberdine coat would have kept my shoes dry :-0

Younger daughter had a kilt too, Maddie.
The uniform changed between the time each of them went to the same school.

She too only had 1 kilt.
Even the pale blue blouses cost a fortune and could only be bought in the special school outfitters :-0
We got by with 3 of them.

Son's school had more down-to-earth uniform.
You could buy it in many shops and just sew a school badge onto the blazer pocket.
