Our local council in their wisdom are spending thousands of pounds buying weed killer

to spray on grass verges, pavements and roundabouts.

Pavements I can understand but all they have succeeded in doing on the grass verge

is kill the grass :-( :-(

They are complaining they have no money :-| :-| :-|

Belle, I can't have fairy vocals as I get vertigo. So 3 pairs of specs it is :-(

I had a reminder on FB of the weather shortly after we moved to this house in 2013 for this week. Perishing with day time temps between 0 and 3C and a thick layer of snow! So current weather isn't too bad - apart from yesterday :-0

Island, I remember March 2013.
It was grim here and there were roads blocked and abandoned cars in the snow all over the local area :-0 :-|

Von, What is it with council teams?
There was uproar near here a couple of years back, when workers started spraying randomly in side streets in town.
This was not in any areas, where 'weeds' obstructed views for traffic or caused any other safety issue, but WAS in an area renowed for it's amazing and very beautiful hollyhocks, which grew alongside a footpath and the old stone wall bordering the ancient parish church.
Luckily the locals managed to protest in time to save at least some and the survivors are gradually managing to start spreading a bit with a bit of human help.

Spent quite a bit in Dunelm, but saved lots on winter-weight bedding and other items to put away for Christmas gifts and our home use :-D
