Fly Report 30 Jan 2026 19:58

This is just a small practice :-) she used to be mobile I have been with her from when my cats were kittens so about 25 year :-)

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 30 Jan 2026 19:58

I think that is true Fly :-(

Fly

Fly Report 30 Jan 2026 19:55

They say money is the root of all evil :-(

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 30 Jan 2026 19:55

Perhaps they are an independent rather than part of one of these big groups :-) Mine was a family owned practice but then they couldn't resist the temptation of the offer made by one of these big groups :-|

When Ralph had that operation in Dec 2020 they gave him 1-2 years, they said he should have a scan every six months and I thought why because I really didn't want to know as they had already said they didn't think doggie chemo would help :-0

Fly

Fly Report 30 Jan 2026 19:50

It does but my vet's are not that bad :-)

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 30 Jan 2026 19:48

All of what you read in the press too about Vet Practices charging for this, that and the other makes you think twice too :-0

Fly

Fly Report 30 Jan 2026 19:47

I remember that <3

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 30 Jan 2026 19:46

One of the Vets said he had a murmur put him on expensive heart tablets, I took him back a few days later and a locum vet asked why he was on heart tablets and said he didn't have a murmur. I then complained and after the Practice wanted a second, third and fourth opinion all said he didn't have a murmur and they compensated me for all the visits and tablets :-|

You are right <3 I would not put Fly through anything now <3

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 30 Jan 2026 19:42

If Ralph was a younger dog I wouldn't hesitate to have scans and procedures done but you have to be realistic that sadly he is a senior dog and can't live forever. He hates the Vets and if his quality of life is ok and he is not in any pain let things be <3 <3

Fly

Fly Report 30 Jan 2026 19:39

I was told Fly had a murmur :-0 The vet he's got now says he got the heart of an OX :-)

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 30 Jan 2026 19:36

She thought he had a murmur and I told her about a previous vet who said he had a murmur and after four other vets checked his heart they couldn't hear a murmur :-0 :-0

Fly

Fly Report 30 Jan 2026 19:34

Could she not tell by listening to it :-S

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 30 Jan 2026 19:33

Because of his age she was talking of a heart scan too to see whether he could take the anesthetic :-0
